I've used Bob Books with three of my children so far and still like the series.

We're working our way through Pianimals. So far, so good.

We really like our Graco Nautilus.

We have a Ruud a/c that's still chugging along after 20 years.

I have always cut the binding off the book, scanned the pages, saved them on my hard drive, then printed them as needed in subsequent years. My printer/scanner has an automatic document feed, and that simplifies the process tremendously!

My plan for my son entering 3rd grade:
finish MUS Gamma/start Delta
FLL 3
AAS 2/3
finish SOTW2/start SOTW3
Elemental Science Chemistry
Prima Latina
copywork from SOTW
HWT Cursive
He'll also be starting piano lessons and continuing in Cub Scouts.

Dh is #5 out of 9, including step-siblings. I'm an only child.

No. His dress code is a collared shirt and slacks.

My husband grew up in a family of 4 before divorce, 9 after. He has the most children of any of his siblings or step-siblings. We have 4 children, and all the others have 1-2.
I'm the only child of 2 only children. I've always said that dh and I averaged our pasts when we created our own family!
All 4 of my grandparents grew up in families with 6-9 kids each. I don't think any of those kids ended up having more than 2 children of their own.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this! My 2nd son had a similar injury when he was 3. His finger looked horrible at the time, but it healed back wonderfully with only a tiny scar that takes some effort to locate. Its function is perfect. I hope the same will be true for your baby!

My 8.5 year old son is around 56 pounds and 54 inches.

My kids really enjoyed the Museum of Natural History in Anniston. There is also a world history museum on the same property. I haven't been there myself, but I've heard good things about it.

The Magic School Bus Space Adventures was a huge hit with my 8 and 6 year olds. They have been quoting me facts from it ever since watching it.

75 days down, 105 to go. We started at the beginning of August and plan to finish up around the end of June.

How close is close? We used to live a full day's drive from our closest family member, and we both thought that was too far away. We're now 1.5 hour/3.5 hours from our parents and see both sets fairly regularly, and that's just about perfect. I wouldn't want to live much closer.

A friend of mine has ten children. The first two are boys, then eight girls in a row.

I have been using this recipe with a frozen turkey for years: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Turkey-Brine/Detail.aspx

All 3 of my Lego builders routinely use the base plates for various purposes.

There's no workbook that goes with the older FLL 1/2. The lessons are done orally. Levels 3 and 4 each have a workbook.

My kids are all close in age, so we're planning to keep everyone in the same cycle.

I have one child in Beta and one child in Alpha right now. So far, just one set of blocks has been plenty. They rarely do math at the same time.
-
Phonics Pathways is the only phonics program that we've tried, but it has worked really well for my two children who have used it.

Our family of 6 (with 5 of us drinking milk) drinks about 2 gallons a week.

Ok, I am clueless so bear with me:) I was just looking up homeschooling laws and did not know about the "letter of intent" and some other things. I am in Atlanta and it looks like kindergarten is nor required in Georgia. So I don't need to do anything for my five yr old I am teaching this year? Also, we will be moving in the next few months, most likely the DC area so I'd need to know the law for VA or MD. If it is required in those would I just send a letter of intent after we move even though the school year has already started?
You are correct. You don't have to submit the Declaration of Intent form in Georgia unless your child is at least 6 years old by September 1 or has previously been enrolled in public school.

I highly recommend this one. http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Thermal-Laminator-Inches-TL901/dp/B0010JEJPC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330409087&sr=8-1 I saw it at my Walmart the other day for under $20.
