Bible - leading little ones to God as our nightime devotional - love it! Good luck with your choices for next year!!
  2. I bought Horizons health as well, and was disappointed for the same reasons! I have used Abeka Health for my daughter and have really liked it! I am using the Horizons Phonics for my ker and loving it, so I thought the Horizons Health would be good as well, but it didn't work for me. I am probably going to resell it and buy Abeka instead. :001_smile:
  3. Thanks for all the info! I checked out the CLP and it looks very simple and east to use! I like the fact that it is more independent , having other kids to teach as well! :001_smile: Also the math u see, I love how it has a dvd to watch that explains the lesson! "Sigh" What to choose! Thanks so much for all your help. I do have one more question though... I was wondering, has anyone ever used BJU math for 3 grade or higher? Either just the textbook, and I hear now you can order just the math course online for distance learning. Has anyone ever done that? If you have, what do you think? Thanks!
  4. I too used Abeka for my older child and it worked well for her! I actually used the Abeka k4 program for my second daughter, but switched to Horizons Phonics for K5. She absolutely loves it and is progressing well. Hope that helps!:001_smile:
  5. I have actually bought, am going to be doing the core 1 this next year with my 1st and 3rd grader, along with the SOTW. It is a great way to teach History, Lit, and Science to more than one child. The material in core one is plenty hard for a 3rd grader, and yet not too overwhelming for a 1st grader, imo. Of course you would have to order Math , Language, etc.. to match each child's level. There is alot of reading outloud in the sonlight cores. Sometimes that fits a family, and sometimes not. Good luck on your homeschooling adventure! :001_smile:
  6. Thanks so much for the links Corraleno! I will check them out. Fishmummy ,I will also check out the math u see and teaching textbooks. :D
  7. I am actually using Saxon as well. I will have to look into Math mammoth. Sounds very interesting. Thanks for the advice!
  8. Hello there! I am new here and looking for some expert advise! :001_smile: My 7 year old daughter is having a rough time with Math and I'm not the greatest at explaining things either, which doesn't help. More of an English lover! Anyways, which math curriculum would you all suggest for a 3rd grader, that would be easy to teach. We are doing Saxon and abeka right now. Thanks in advance for any advise in this area! :001_smile:
  9. I know that Sonlight core 2 regular readers start off with the Beginners Bible as their first reader. Is that what you would be looking for? Hope this helps!
