I'll see if I can get support on it. Could you give an example of a couple of threads that aren't working? -
I no longer have minor children. :0 I don't know how many of you were around 18 years ago, when I was hanging out on the old boards begging for tips to get labor started, but at least one of the tips actually helped. (That was the primrose oil one, in case you're wondering, and I really wish I could remember who suggested it.) That's such a fond memory for me. Thanks for still being here, Hive. Happy birthday, Emily. swb

Know a lot about TWTM? Want to make money from it?

We're hiring! You can work remotely, flexible hours; knowledge of TWTM and WTM Press materials a huge plus. Check out the listing... https://job-openings.monster.com/Customer-Service-Representative-Well-Trained-Mind-Press/11/200167174 -
I wrote SOTW after the first edition of TWTM came out, because so many parents told me that the encyclopedia format of Usborne (which we'd chosen for its chronological progression and global focus) wasn't helping their children remember--they wanted a narrative instead, and I couldn't find one I liked.

Really sorry about the delay, guys. PM me with ANY concerns!

Guys, Due to the fact that the title/original posts were removed (outside of my control), I'm not able to judge how appropriate the follow-ups were. However, the thread clearly carried a strong partisan political edge, so I've decided to remove it. Regrets to those of you who were engaging in good faith. SWB

...that it will take several more days for the search feature to be up to speed. There is just so much information on this site that needs indexing (over 20GB!) that it's taking the software a long time to get it all done. We thought you'd rather have the forums back with partial search than not back at all. A few other features may also take some time to fully function. But we're getting there. So, welcome back, and pardon our dust.= SWB

Dear Hive, Some time in the near future, WE ARE UPGRADING OUR FORUMS! You'll have better security and better performance, and the upgrade should solve a number of the bugs that you guys have noted and asked us about. EVERYTHING will transfer over. You'll still have all your posts, information, etc. We'll be setting up a FAQ area and giving you clear ways to get help if you have ANY difficulty after the upgrade. And we're not doing this right away--I'm just giving you advance warning. When we DO upgrade, the forums will be down for a time. But we'll give you exact days and time spans long before we start the process. Stay tuned for more information! SWB

Has anyone been around long enough to remember when I was 9 months pregnant with Emily, and the Hive spent about a week giving me advice about how to start labor? I had a flashback to that yesterday, and thought: SEVENTEEN YEARS. Which means these boards have been going for almost twenty. Happy birthday, Emily! Congratulations, Boards! And now I'm feeling a little bit on the ancient side. SWB

I'll be in Seattle on January 30 to do an event at Town Hall Seattle for my new book. It's such a long way that I'd like to see if I can arrange something else around it. Do you know of any home school groups or meetings--or classical schools--that might be interested in a workshop or two? Post or message me. It's been a while since I've been to Washington--I'm looking forward to it. SWB

Apparently not. A city where I regularly work. My oldest son's alma mater. Sister school to W&M. My back yard. This thread immediately nose-dived. This forum is, in that Platonic world where the principles of discussion and critical thought I continually support exist, a place where such things could be discussed. No. I continue to work for that space, but this is, still, not it. SWB

The thread began with pot-stirring and went downhill from there.
