  1. On Singapore website they have both HIG 6a&b and teacher guide 6a&b, I didn't look at the difference, the teacher guide is more expensive though. I have 6a&b HIG, and think I referred to it once for clarification. I am using math mammoth grade seven pre algebra this year for my 12 year old, along with Life of Fred. If he breezes through MM then we will move onto algebra.
  2. Thank you. OrganicJen, in print it looks like that, irl, not so much. The only thing they've done so far is math and reading. Picked up grammar from the post office yesterday, still need to find usborne science encyclopedia, print out elemental science, print off copies of SOTW, and purchase art books. I already feel like I'm a month behind from Irma and just not knowing which curriculum to use this year so late purchasing. I know it will be fine, I can go into summer, I had great plans to get a lot done before Christmas holidays though.
  3. Hello again, I used to be here, maybe five or six years ago. I read wtm when I started homeschool and was here for awhile. Now I have a fifth and seventh grader (10&12, &4) doing a grade above, and I combine science, history and art studies. This year I am doing an art and music artist study with the kids too. My almost four year old is doing whatever, I'm trying out a letter a week, making a letter craft and some Montessori activities. All on a three day core. I'm optimistic.
  4. Okay, I'm thinking American civics, not American history. So I could possibly cover sotw 1&2 this year and 3&4 next year with some civics somewhere. Then if I'm still schooling for high school, see what's good for high school. I can't believe I blanked on the whole history civics things. Not enough coffee this morning after I got home from the barn. I don't know if I will be schooling through high school or not yet. If they go, then I'll pick up one of those what your child needs to know books the summer before to make sure I covered what the school wants. Wasn't thinking that.
  5. Is it possible? I keep searching and not finding anything here on wtm. I've only found sonlight one year, it doesn't use sotw though, which is what I'd like to follow, since I already have it. My delima is getting world history done this year and American history next year, just in case my 12 yr old goes to ps, I'd like him to have a good base of both. And if he doesn't, then we start world history again for his ninth and my other sons seventh grade year, breaking up world history into two years. I need an outline to follow though. I don't know how to condense down sotw to fit all four books. If we go into summer it's fine, I do want a break before we start American history though. They do history and science together, different literature levels. They are ten and twelve. I also need to apply the same to science, since I would like to use elemental science, can it or something similar be combined to fit astronomy, earth science and biology this year and physics and chemistry next year?
  6. For elemental science, have any of you found using the student book alone is fine, since you're reading from usborne or kingfisher, or is the teacher book necessary?
