Wait! What? The $15 a month unlimited texting is being discontinued????? Oh NO! This is not good. Are you sure?

I would see an orthopedic doctor or podiatrist. They might recommend custom inserts, but just be aware that if your insurance doesn't cover it, there are cheaper alternatives that might work just as well. My dd pronates and has one leg slightly longer than the other. She's tried arch supports from the podiatrist and felt that the Spenco Arch Supports we ordered online for about $16 actually worked better for her. And recently we went to another podiatrist for custom orthotics to even out her leg length. After we found that it would cost us $400, we ordered a $6 heal lift online which did the exact same thing. (We did verify the results with her chiropractor and podiatrist.) She is a professional ballet dancer so the health of her feet, legs and back are very important. Thankfully the cheaper alternatives to custom orthotics work well for her.

(Jumping in not having read the whole thread.)
Many New Englanders have their own unique pronunciations which I haven't heard anywhere else. We say dawg. Trying to think of a way to type how it actually sounds... Like if you were saying "Aww, you're so sweet!" That aww is the sound in dog. We usually leave the end off most words. Cah instead of car and watuh for water (water has that same aww sound as in dog). I've personally worked to not have this accent as I don't particularly like it. Funny, Boston is just 1 hour away but Bostonians have a different accent from us.

Recently bought little STACKABLE juice glasses - $1.49 for a package of 6! Love them. Also bought shelves for my son's room. Going back this week for more shelves. Kids eat free on Tuesdays so we'll grab dinner also. Can't wait!

We used BJU distance learning this past year for grade 5 (one student). I ordered the whole grade kit and loved it!
The first thing I did was to copy everything from the supplement discs onto the computer for easy access. At the beginning of each week I would go over the lesson plan and print out any supplement pages and pull out worksheets needed for that week.
One thing that helped was to use magazine holders for each subject. Into each holder went the textbook and anything else needed for that subject (notebook, ziplock baggie with math manipulatives, etc.). I also used a plastic Target brand 8-pocket folder for each subject. I labeled the pockets: Supplement Pages, To Do (worksheets), In Progress, To Be Checked/Graded, Completed Chapter Work, Quizzes/Tests. This way I could pick up any subject folder and easily see where my child was with his work. All completed paperwork went into the Chapter pocket so it was easy to pull out to study for quizzes and tests. After the final test for a chapter, all the worksheets and supplement pages went into a large 3 ring binder (one for each subject).
Hope that helps! :)

My absolute FAVORITE is Wishes. It's the fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom. Get there early and get a good spot in front of the castle.
Our favorite place to go for lunch is the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. You sit in a convertible car and watch clips of old movies - just like being at a 1950's drive in.
Our favorite place for breakfast is Boma in the Animal Kingdom Resort. Huge breakfast buffet, delicious food.

My dd has a Christmas tree in her room and just took it down this week. Which I think is earlier than last year. :)

Thanks for the idea and the link!

My dd has just finished high school. (Yay!) We decided to complete her senior year over two years because of our long daily commute to her ballet training. So she took 5 years to finish high school. Will it look bad on her transcripts to show her senior year from 2010-2012? Can I even do that?

I had the same dream for years, and it was always when I felt like I couldn't control the circumstances in my life. I was always trying to ride a horse, but either I couldn't get on the horse, there weren't any stirrups, or I would get on but couldn't find the reigns, etc. I could never, never actually ride the horse. I had this dream for many years and then it suddenly stopped after I had my first child - after years of infertility.
Now I have another dream when I feel like my circumstances are out of control. I'm always trying to dial a phone, usually because of some sort of emergency. But I can't remember the phone number, or I can't push the buttons, or the buttons just fall of the phone, or I get through only to get disconnected, or I dial 911 but I can't get through...
The WEIRDEST dream I've ever had, by far, was when I dreamed I was a triangle. It was really hard to walk. I occasionally have dreams of tornadoes but I would love to be a storm chaser so they tend to be good dreams.
I hope the OP finds an end to the recurring dreams!

My dd and my ds have had plantar warts. They are HIGHLY contagious. Podiatrist told us to wash tub with bleach after showers, no barefoot in the house, no touching the wart, etc. She treated them with a tiny drop of medicine from the blister beetle. We had to go back to the podiatrist about once a week for several weeks for treatment. It was worth it though.

Klean Kanteen! You can choose which cap you like - sport, loop, flat. We used to use Sigg bottles but they are aluminum inside and have a smaller mouth making it harder to clean than the Klean Kanteen. I like that the Klean Kanteen is stainless steel inside. We have several in all different sizes.

Because our oil bill is so expensive, we keep our first floor (where we homeschool) at 64 and then it goes down to 60 overnight. The 2nd floor (where we sleep) is always set at 62. I hate it. I would be comfortable somewhere in the low to mid 70's. Thankfully this year we bought a space heater for the upstairs bathroom for showers and dressing and boy does that help!

Could it be that he wants you to tell him the sizes you might be interested in so he can get back to you with those specific prices? His reply: Cost is not a factor here, pricing will be good. Need to know what sizes you want? -
You don't really need an invite. I signed up without one. I just had to wait to receive a confirmation email which came within 2 minutes. My dd joined the same way but she waited a couple hours for her email.
By the way, I LOVE LOVE Pinterest!!

redsquirrel, I had gone back to my post to edit it, adding that we only pay about $35-$40 per month total for 3 phones. I think that's a pretty good price especially if you only need the phones for peace of mind and aren't talking a lot. Don't know if T-Mobile has good coverage in your area or not but it might be worth checking out.
-
We don't use our phones to chat, so we don't need a whole lot of minutes per month. We've had T-Mobile's pay-as-you-go plan for many years now. My dh and I pay 10 cents per minute and 10 cents per text message. We spend about $10-$15 per month for each phone, depending on how much we use it. My dd has the unlimited texting plan for $15 per month, and any calls are an additional 10 cents per minute. So with 3 phones we only pay about $35-$40 total per month. We've found coverage to be excellent traveling from the northeast to the southeast.
I spent a little more money on a nice phone for myself which is WiFi enabled so I can get free internet access wherever there is free WiFi. Also, when we go on road trips I can get a web day pass for $1.49 which gives me unlimited web access wherever I am. Our last road trip I bought a web day pass and then tethered my phone to our laptop so we had internet access on the laptop in the car.

I think the highlight of our last trip was visiting the Belgian waffle truck that was in Columbus Circle. Oh. My. Goodness. Lightly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside - and smothered with NUTELLA! That alone was worth the trip. LOL

In winter I love the shopping district with all the windows decorated for Christmas (especially Macy's). New York City Ballet's Nutcracker. Time Square at night, especially if you've never seen it before. You have to see it at least once. :001_smile:

When my dd was maybe around 5 or 6 years old my MIL gave her a bag of Smartfood. She opened it up and incredulously looked at the popcorn inside, looked back up at me and exclaimed, "It comes already popped???"

When my son was a toddler he was impacted and Miralax was the only thing that helped. Even an enema didn't help him, along with apple juice, prune juice - we tried everything.

How many of you are referring to labs when you talk about these incidents?

My dog once acted unusually and it has always made me wonder what she was sensing at the time. She doesn't like thunderstorms and always wants to run down into the basement if the thunder is loud. Well, this one day the storm was particularly violent and she was FREAKING OUT! I opened the door to the basement expecting her to run down but she wouldn't go. So I coaxed her, even held onto her collar and tried pulling her to the door. She pulled backwards and there was NO WAY I was getting her into the basement. Literally 5 seconds later our house got struck by lightning. The bolt went through the gutter, into the plumbing pipes THROUGH THE BASEMENT, and exited out a basement window causing a hole in the window and a huge rut in the ground outside where it exited. She still runs downstairs during storms, so I've always wondered if she sensed something that one day.
Looking for a cheap unlimited text cell phone plan

Just checked the Tmobile website and they have indeed taken off the $15/mo unlimited text option, which is what my daughter and I have. They are offering unlimited text, web, and 100 minutes of talk for $30. I might go with that if they don't let me stay with my current plan. My daughter uses Skype for her phone which allows unlimited calling to any cell or landline phone for $2.99 per month, as long as she's using wifi.
