  1. Dawn, That was BEAUTIFUL! I'm sitting here with tears streaming thinking of the day we will send each one of ours to the next stage. I hope I can keep this idea in my head that long!
  2. From my experience, once you go Mac you never go back.;) Yes. It does take a bit to get familiar with if you've been using a PC forever. But, once you do it is far more superior!
  3. We are doing this with my son. Where we lived prior he made the cut off by 4 days but then they changed the date to Sept. 1st as well. He was 4 when he went to private K. We moved to SC where, if in PS, he would be finishing 2nd. We decided we would go with that. So we are really doing 3rd. for 2 years. I also didn't want a 17 year old graduate or him to be the youngest in his "grade". (For co-op and church they use the grade level.)
  4. I totally understand this! My husband is Puerto Rican with black hair, and very dark eyes and skin. My youngest two both are very pale with blonde hair one with hazel eyes and one with blue. I have actually had people ask us if my husband is the father:confused:. I don't get it! :grouphug: to you!
  5. HERE is one close to us with schedule and classes. HERE is the other.:001_smile:
  6. MUS is what we started with. Worked great for my son but not for my dd.
  7. Are those similar to MUS or Saxon cubes? The real life cubes (for whatever reason) did not make sense to her. We tried over and over. It wasn't until we started using a number line and she was drawing pictures for each problem she was finally able to get the right answers. I really don't know why.
  8. THANK YOU for this! She is so different from my oldest when it comes to math (well everything really) so I was so unsure of what is really ok for a 1st grader.
  9. My first grade daughter has been struggling all year with math. We tried 3 different programs before we found MM (in Feb). She is able to complete her math work but she HAS to use a number line or pictures to find the answers. Always. Even if it is something simple like 3+2 or 7-1 or 8-7. Is this ok? Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thank you all for the help!
  10. You are NOT alone! I'm right there with you. What's even more frustrating for me is my 2 year old is far closer to being trained. I'm :bigear: on this thread!
  11. I can relate! That's what I would fear. Changing my mind. You ladies are right. Don't make drastic decisions when I'm pregnant or pp when I'm completely hormonal!
  12. He's definitely open to having more but if I said I was done he would be done.
  13. Oh that is neat. We lived in Charlotte for 3 years and just moved back to Charleston, SC last year.
  14. This is where I'm at. Pregnancies are easy (so far). BUT the other things you mentioned...that's where my head says be done and my heart says maybe more? We have things we want to do that does get harder and more expensive the more you have.
  15. :iagree: but I've wanted to be DONE before and then changed our minds. I guess I fear regret.
  16. having children? I'm pregnant with #5 and feel (right now) that we will be done! I guess b/c life right now is so busy. IDK. BUT, I thought the same thing after #2. Since I was only 23 at the time we decided not to do anything permanent. I'm so glad we did b/c when #2 turned 3 yrs. old we desperately wanted more children! So...do you think 30 is still too young to decide on a permanent fix?
  17. I would also prefer 2 days. We are already signed up for a co-op with great classes for the kids and it's one day/wk. This most likely be what we will stick with. But, it's the end of the year and I'm tired and this idea sounds appealing.
  18. I love how you laid all of this out! Can I be a combo?
  19. The value resorts have family suites but we had to call bc their are only 200. We went in Nov. And oaid $85/night. We had 6 in our room but im not sure if that is max capacity.
  20. Thete are between 3-6 kids per grade. Theu combine 2 grades for science. All of the teacjers have teaching degrees. The days they have class school is 9-2.but that time includes music or art. Im going to.check it out tomorrow even though my plans were.set.in stone for.nexy year. Lol.
