  1. I would love to hear what you've heard that is heretical about it. I have never heard the author so that might be something interesting to know.
  2. I read it last summer. I really enjoyed the book. I did let my 15 yo read it too. But I just told him to remember that it was fiction and not to take it as "truth". It opened my eyes..not that I really believe the way it goes..but just to the fact that we so often put God in a box. So, it was a great read...and I really want to read it again soon.
  3. we had the same thing happen at my moms house..the parents pused the dead and even the sickly babies out..<shrug>
  4. we all feel this way at one point or another. I would say..I don't know you..but I have faith that if you WANT to do this..you CAN do this. There is so much in the way of help...groups, cirriculum, etc, that it is a very doable thing. Take it one day at a time and don't get overwhelmed with everything everyone says you need to do.
  5. we do a few at different times of the day. My kids all have morning, afternoon, and evening chores. It works for us
  6. we have continued with math and some grammar but that's about all
  7. read alouds are just GREAT books that you can enjoy together as a family to promote the love of reading. It needs to be a book that would create times to think and talk about. Pilgrims Progress is great. If you have younger ones..get the Pilgrims Progress for younger readers. Just a thought!:001_smile:
  8. I know how you feel but on the other hand I am SOO ready to start and get back on a schedule. summers feel so unorganized to me. Nothing seems to get done!
