  1. That sounds like the bathroom we got when we bought our current house. It had bubblegum pink walls with white fixtures and pink and white tile on the floor that had, I kid you not, BLACK grout. It always looked filthy no matter how you cleaned. First thing we did when we moved in was paint the walls white. I would fix the bathroom. You wouldn't be able to pay off the full balance of your loans and you already have a plan for them. The bathroom fix would have immediate and long-lasting benefit to your family so it gets my vote.
  2. I don't think it's controlling at all, but I also don't think the people you're aiming at are likely to self-aware enough to pick up the message you want them to. Still, you should do whatever you can for your children's sake.
  3. Speaking as a former respiratory therapist you guys really need to see a pulmonologist. Those results do seem to indicate asthma, but a portable spirometry set-up like you describe is not really that accurate. Your daughter needs to have a full PFT pre- and post-bronchodilator. That will really tell you all what's going on. A pulmonologist will also be able to tailor her meds more effectively.
  4. memrise.com has vocab practice for many Latin programs. warmenhoven.org/latin/vocab is keyed to Wheelock, but it has an option to quiz noun endings that would probably useful for any program.
  5. I don't fear becoming a Latin hoarder... because I already am one. ? I have Cambridge, Ecce Romani, Wheelock's, the Form Series, part of Henle, some of Janney's, some of Latin for Americans, some of Lingua Latina, Latin an Intensive Course, and finally, A Primer of Ecclesiastical Latin. Beat that! Although in my case I didn't actually have to pay for most of these because an acquaintance of mine gave them to me after she retired from teaching high school Latin for 50 years. I still think Wheelock is the best overall though.
  6. Having looked at Latin Alive in the past, and again just now, I'm glad I stuck with Wheelock. The only issue I have had with Wheelock is that it was originally written for college students so sometimes I have to do a little interpreting to bring it down to a high school level. However, the explanations are really good, and there is a ton of supplementary materials available for it. This is what I use: I use Wheelock's Latin as my main text. It is solid and time-tested. It also has a ton of work in it, so there is plenty of material for practice and reinforcement. I like to use the workbook to reinforce the grammar concepts learned in the textbook. There is enough material in each chapter to spread it out over the week without it becoming too much. I also like to use the book 38 Latin Stories. This is a slim volume that has 1 Latin story for each chapter of Wheelock starting with chapter 3. It is keyed to Wheelock so as the student learns new grammar it is incorporated into the following stories. Most of the early stories are based on ancient myths while the latter are adapted ancient authors. Lastly, I like the book A Comprehensive Guide to Wheelock's Latin by Dale Grote. This book was written by a Latin teacher and takes the student through every chapter of Wheelock giving them more explanation of each grammar concept. Grote taught from Wheelock for years and he knows what tends to give students trouble. His explanations really help to fill in whatever gaps Wheelock may have.

  8. I found this page on Amazon. I think it should help you. Basically, it seems that you need to download the Kindle for pc program, and then register/link it to your amazon account in order to access kindle content bought with your account. https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_2200783640_pci?nodeId=200388510 Here is the page where you can download the software: https://smile.amazon.com/Amazon-Digital-Services-LLC-Download/dp/B00UB76290/ref=sr_1_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1536097351&sr=1-1&keywords=kindle+for+pc
  9. Zappos has many options in sizes 15 and 16, but not in wide width. Maybe he could go up a size in order to get more width? https://www.zappos.com/filters/men-cleats/CK_XARC81wEYzO4BOgKlDnoC0wSCAQKbFsABAuICBgECAxgHDw.zso
  10. I was invited to join this (and similar) groups all the time when I was at school. You're "nominated" solely based on grades and it doesn't really get you anything for your money. I found this thread on College Confidential about it if you're interested. https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/1203238-national-society-of-leadership-and-success-sigma-alpha-pi.html
  11. All third declension adjectives have long i as the ablative singular ending. You're right that it is feminine if you're using it to modify the ablative, singular, feminine "puella."
  12. You are building muscle, which requires the muscle tissue to experience a small amount of trauma (that's what triggers the growth of new muscle). This trauma causes a localized inflammation in the affected muscle tissues which causes them to swell and retain fluid. If you keep working out your muscles will adapt and the swelling should get better. Just hang in there. Give it another 3 weeks and you see it start to get better. If you're really worried about it mention it to your trainer, I'll bet you're not the only one to have this issue.
  13. Maybe Val St. Lambert? I found this on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val_Saint_Lambert
  14. I don't know about the first name, but the last name is Lambert.
  15. Check to make sure that you don't have a bunch of apps open in the background, and turn off background refresh and notifications for all the apps that you can. Some of them, like facebook, can be real power suckers.
  16. No lie, I finally got so fed up with stylists that wouldn't listen to what I wanted that I bought a Flow-Bee. I wear my hair in a simple taper cut, and since I can now control every aspect of the cut I get exactly what I want.
  17. We've always used Science Diet for our pets, dogs and cats. We've never had any trouble with it. I like that it actually tells you on the package that the ingredients come from specific countries, and not just some variation on "the finest ingredients from around the world" like most other brands. I specifically wanted to avoid anything from China and Science Diet doesn't use ingredients from China.
  18. Elishama means "God hears" in Hebrew. But, of course, he would spend the rest of his life explaining to people what it means.
  19. Yes, you need to see a doctor. My grandmother had something almost exactly like you describe. Her GP tried treating it like an infection to see if it would resolve, but it didn't. She ended up at a dermatologist with a diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma. She had it removed in the office and has been fine ever since. Don't put if off. If it is cancer the sooner you get a diagnosis and treatment the better your outcome will be.
  20. Amazon sells some Buster Brown socks that seem similar to what you describe. They are here: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00RZQ8IX8/ref=twister_B00T6AXTGC?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
  21. Check out protonmail.com they're all about privacy, and they're free.
  22. I've got an Oral-B with the round rotating head and I've been very pleased with it. I have a small jaw with closely packed backed teeth and the Oral-B is the first toothbrush I've ever had that was able to get all of my molars really clean.
  23. I've been doing the New Atkins (20 net carbs/day) since May 1st and I've lost 14 pounds. I do have to watch my calories, but I'm not suffering or anything. I keep track with an app called MyNetDiary.
  24. Glad you liked it! We've always had a good time playing it.
  25. I've got one. Finish Lines, http://www.game-board.com/finish_lines.html, is family friendly board game that features quotes from a variety of sources. It's easy to understand, and can be made more or less difficult for different ages.
