  1. I might use this program again. It was well laid out and easy to use. I did add mapping exercises and a book of songs/chants. I would say that the weakness of it was speaking portion - it did have speaking exercises, but they were short and there weren't enough to review if the student needed repetition/reinforcement. 2. Carol, IIRC, there will be nouns and colors but also simple sentences and conversations. I don't think there will be any passages (like paragraphs), but sentences. No tween appeal! This was hard for me as a Spanish learner too since I was sheltered from pop culture :). It is probably a good level of information and interest for an 8 year old. I'm not sure if you speak any Spanish, but the text should come with an audio CD too - not tons of "fun" stuff on it but solid pronunciation. Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
  3. Disclaimers: I am Protestant and have only used the Ancients year of this curriculum. What ages are your kids? It matters since she has different curricula for different age groups. That said, I'm not sure you'd have to tweak much - the history has Incorporated biblical events and we haven't used the devotional program that goes with it (although it looks good to me and is on my list of things to try). There are a few Bible verses in the copy work book, but nothing controversial. I can't speak for all of the optional curricula / recommended books, but the core stuff at the elementary level shouldn't require much tweaking. Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
  4. I have used Espanol para Chicos y Grandes some time ago when I tutored homeschoolers (before kids) and would be happy to answer any questions you might have about it! Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
  5. We have also used Ancients with my son this year (only one school age kid). We have loved it, but like coastalfam, used it more as a spine than following the schedule to the letter. We will continue using ELTL, MUS, SOTW, and Quark next year. Not sure about RLTL - I like phonograms but have used a variety of resources to teach reading. The one things we haven't done is the additional read alouds - the curricula were already read-aloud heavy and it would have been too much for us. Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
  6. Oops didn't see your mention of Wayfarers, coastalfam :) - my son loves the readalouds but we only do the ELTL ones. I would love to hear what ones you have picked out! Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
  7. Fwiw, you may like Wayfarers from Barefoot Ragamuffin. It gives you a structure and booklists but is relatively easy to simplify and customize. It is heavy on narration and does have Geography planned in as well (we haven't done it this year - it was our first year homeschooling - but want to next year). Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
