  1. My 6th grade son needs help with his time table facts so I ordered gamma for him to do for this year with his 5th grade sister. However, DH is very concerned and now, so am I. I don't want him to get even further behind. My hope is we can move quickly through it and do Delta as well this year. In addition, I was thinking or ordering LOF fractions and decimals. He was previously using CLE math but the spiral approach wasn't working. Thoughts? I would like to be teaching pre-algebra by 8th grade.
  2. I just got my MFW Rome to Reformation stuff and it looks AWESOME!
  3. Zofran saved me with my fifth pregnancy. You must be having a girl. My girls made me sick but the boys didn't. Feel better real soon and awesome job getting and keeping the food down. I was in the er for dehydration when it got too bad but that was before the zofran!
  4. Well it sounds like I will give MFW a try. I think it would work best for me. I like the weekly grid that i can check things off when completed. And that I can combine everyone. Thanks all for sharing :)
  5. I am considering using MFW next year but am not 100% My kids will be 6th, 5th, 2nd, and we may do another round of K for my youngest ds. I am just curious what your favorite is and why. Thanks :)
  6. ANd you are right, sending him to school would not have changed anything with his relationships with his siblings.
  7. Sorry I was just having a little vent the other day. No two days are the same which in some cases is a great thing. DH and I are dealing with some behavior issues with DS1 so I just got a couple books to read on discipline. I do love homeschooling but was having a bad day the other day :)
  8. Thank you for sharing. I think we will try BJU for next year. We need a change over here :)
  9. Thank you for sharing. I am really thinking we will try Saxon for my older two and continue with CLE for the younger ones. Thanks again :)
  10. 6th and 5th grade, I am think of getting Saxon 6/5 which they could do together or TT or CLE which we have been using but feel its time for a change possibly.
  11. For next year a 6th and 5th grader BJU English (grammer and writing) and I would add AAS or CLE
  12. Because honestly I feel like I am going to rip my hair out! Well not really, but geez. I miss the quiet, I miss the clean house. I hear too much yelling and arguing and its making me bonkers. #1 dislikes #2 very much. #3 and #4 get picked on by #1 too much. #1 is a problem for me. Do I send him back to PS to get a break knowing that he was the reason I chose to homeschool? How could I live with myself?
  13. Thank you to each and every one of you for the support. I really needed it. I am looking forward to the grand babies a LLLOOONNNGGG time from now. But when the time comes, it will be magical. Today is a better day then when I wrote this thread. I figure its going to be that way. Some days are good, some are not so good. Tis life, right.
  14. My 5th grader has been a struggling speller and I need to get his problem solved. He doesn't seem to understand how to put the sounds of letters together to make words more like he will try to memorize the way a word is spelled. Between these two programs, which would be better for him?
  15. I'm so thankful for what He has given me. I just really am going to miss the whole thing...seeing those 2 pink lines, hearing the first heartbeat, the first ultrasound, the little kicks from within, then holding and smelling that little newborn and all those wonderful things. Its really hard for me right now as my DH's appt gets closer and closer each day. I'm so sad.
  16. My baby is 1 1/2 now and I thank God every day for being so generous to me when He gave her to me. I still wonder if He was trying to tell me something when I had my uterine rupture during my section, or if it was just my body saying "I've had enough". My life, my daughters and my uterus were all saved. Regardless, this chapter is coming to a close and it breaks my heart. My husband is going in for a vasectomy consult next week and then will have the procedure done next month. I just joined a yahoo group for women who have had uterine ruptures some who have gone on to have healthy babies, some who have had to lay down their babies :( I would have loved to have more children. :(
  17. Thank you everyone for sharing. I wasn't sure if it would be rude to attend one on Sundays and then just attend the other for the childrens program mid week.
  18. The church we currently attend is a non denominational church that we all like. However, there isn't a lot of kid activities until middle school/high school during the week. My kids are 5th, 4th, 1st, K and baby. I noticed that several of the local homeschooling moms attend this other church not too far from my home so I looked at their site, its a baptist church, and they have their normal services on Sunday, one being early evening which i really like since some mornings are so busy. Plus they have a women's bible study (my church does too) tuesdays but then on every Wednesday they have a children's service and adult service. Would it be wrong of me to go to both churches or do people do this?
  19. Teaching Textbooks looks like a VERY helpful program. That is moving to the top of the list. Plus I can reuse with the other kiddos!! Always a plus in my book :)
  20. Great idea. I will look into that. Meal planning is on my to do list too. I have been thinking a lot about this. I hate the days when 5 o'clock rolls around and I have NO idea what dinner will be that night.
  21. They are getting better about cleaning but I do need to make a list so we can all see what needs to be done. I can't function well in a messy house and i think once things are in order, more work will get completed. Thank you for the ss, I will take a look at it! :)
  22. Oh my goodness. Thank you for sharing that. I do NOT like the sound of that AT ALL!!!! I am going to look more into Abeka dvds. I have a friend who has her DD using them and really likes them!! She said it is very easy to follow and so far so good!
  23. Hmm. Well cle entirely...wouldn't that be more mommy time? I just really would like something good to use to help free up just a little time. But yeah I worried about him not being able to focus with the dvds either. But maybe if he had someone to explain things better than me he might understand better. Is bju really more work? Is there anything else that will help my situation?
