  1. I've taught this book at home and in a co-op setting. I don't believe it would fit into a composition book. My suggestion is to use card stock when creating the models and mount the large skeleton along with body systems to poster board as they are completed. When finished, it makes a very nice display of the student's work.
  2. We love the Rod and Staff preschool books. They have 2 sets. One set is a group of 4 workbooks for ages 3-4. There is also a set for ages 4-5 that has 9 books. None of these books are particularly colorful, but they are very sweet and get the job done. I have used both sets and my little ones seem to enjoy them. http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com/list/Study_Time_Preschool/ http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com/list/Rod_and_Staff_Preschool
  3. We are in Dickson here, just a little bit west of Nashville.
  4. I developed dry socket when I had one of my wisdom teeth pulled several years ago. I have experienced natural child birth and believe that infection was probably worse. Bless your heart! I am so glad you are feeling better. I know when they packed my mouth with medicated gauze, the relief was instantaneous. I hope you had the same relief. :grouphug:
  5. Thank you so much for this post. We are going into our third year using MFW, and I really do like it. However, TOG has been calling out to me. Your comparison of the 2 programs answers a lot of my questions. Very helpful.
  6. I decide by talking to other families, reading reviews and prayer. Then I will usually try to purchase our choices 2nd hand. That way if it doesn't work, I haven't invested a huge amount of money. Also, I can always pass it along to someone else if our needs and expectations aren't met. It's just a decision. I can always make a new decision. I have no suggestion for you on specifics as my children are a bit younger than yours. But I do hope you find a good fit for both kiddos. :)
  7. I did not even think about the legality of making copies. Thank you so much for pointing that out. I'll go ahead and order one for each child. Also thanks for the heads up on the TM. Would you recommend the match game as well?
  8. I have decided to use SSL as an introduction to Latin for my rising K and 2nd grader. Do I need to order 2 student texts, or can I get away with just making copies?
  9. Very sweet ideas. Thanks for your responses.
  10. I cross posted this on another forum and got a couple of good ideas, but hoped to hear a few more suggestions. Our homeschool co op has a dinner and small awards ceremony at the end of each year to recognize our kids' work throughout the year. I am looking for creative ways to reward my children for their hard work this year. (Creativity is not my strong suit. ) Last year they got certificates, but this time I would love to do something more outside the box. My oldest is completing 1st grade. #2 is completing PreK. #3 was just kind of along for the ride, but has learned to count to 10ish and can sing her ABC song. Suggestions? Anyone?
