Where do I begin. Hello all, this is a long post. I have five children , three boys aged 9,6,5 and two girls 4 and 15 months. I wished I would have listened to my gut feeling when I wanted to homeschool after K with my first son. 1st grade was ok, he was very ahead for his class. I didn't like his peers teaching him things that he never learned at home. 2nd grade was worse, he was put into a class basically tutoring another child and rushed to do his work. And peer interaction I was not happy about. Third grade we moved back to where he went to school in K in another town , and he was emotionally upset since some of the kids didn't want to be friends with him. He went thru bullying, getting in trouble alot because of bully telling him to do things / say things, bullying extensively. I reached out to the principal, he was my middle school teacher, and nothing was done. My son went to an outside therapist where he spoke of this , we told his school counselor. The counselor made a meet up with my son and the bullies. After three investigations coming up as nothing found, I told my husband I'm not letting my other children go thru the same thing.
Mind you my 9 year old was such a sweet and fairly innocent well brought up respectful child. And now I can say do to these influences, I'm having a lot of trouble with him. He is very smart , always reading books, and interested in learning, but is very disobedient/ disrespectful
Therapy doesn't seem to help! I tried TKD and that didn't work either.
Does anyone know of other ways.
I was never a TV of tablet or games type of Mom. But I told my husband I really think movies and even kid shows aren't good for the kids. I'm leaning towards a waldorf type learning with them( Unschooling also)
Any ideas would be appreciated.
