  1. We got behind in our read alouds from last year, so we will be starting one of those, Detectives in Togas, next week. After that we will read Red Sails to Capri.
  2. My 7 year old spends a lot of time with the Audubon Guide Book apps. We have insects/spiders, mammals, birds, butterflies, wildflowers and reptiles. Until April 29, most of the apps that are usually $5 are on sale for a dollar. Other apps we use: - Splash Math - Mathmateer - Number Pieces - Base 10 Blocks - Pinturas - Paint Sparkes - Art Studio - BrainPop (one free video a day without subscription) - BrainPop Jr. (one free video a week without subscription) - Teach Me 1st Grade - Word Bingo / Math Bingo - Tic Tac Toe - Tangrams - Rush Hour - PBS Kids - Starwalk - iBird - Mango for languages (our library offers it) - Stack the Countries - Stack the States - Cat Physics - Unblock Me - Puzzle Art We also load it with "school music" (math songs, Bible memory songs, science song, parts of speech jingles) and lots of audiobooks.
  3. My 7 year old figured it out pretty quickly once I explained which days of the week were school days for Angelica. (It's not unusual for us to skip a weekday and do school on a Saturday instead.)
  4. I use Book Crawler for this. You have options to either scan the ISBN, look a book up on Google Books or manually enter it.
  5. Here's another Vitamix group you might want to search through. I believe the owner of the group owns both blenders and you might be able to find his comparisons of them in the archives.
  6. I don't know, but you may want to ask the hotel if they have rollaway beds. DH and I often request one for DD (usually at no charge) when we're hotels. It is a little bit nicer than sleeping on the floor.
  7. Yes, absolutely! Well, except for that hair combing bit. She can do without THAT!
  8. Thanks! I loaded them to the cloud reader and plan to move them to my iPad when we're ready to use them. Great find!
  9. Thank you! We have been wanting these for a while and this fits our budget!
  10. There's an extra http in this link above. Here's the fixed link: http://www.amazon.com/Egyptian-Treasures-Galileo-Stargazers-Weiss/dp/1882513479 We love Jim Weiss, so this one is on my wishlist now. Thanks!
  11. Mine is my favorite coffee drink. At the cafe I used to frequent, the owner would call out greetings to the regulars when we arrive. He never really introduced himself or asked for our names, but simply named us according to what we usually ordered: Iced Latte, Ms. Mocha, Mr. Romano, NoWhip, etc.
  12. How frustrating! I've been slowly adding to an order. I'd better go recheck prices.
