  1. Thanks. Well here is the thing, I made it once in the instant pot and the meat just wasn't tender, but they all loved how the veggies didn't get as mushy as in the crockpot. So not crispy, but not mushy either.
  2. When I make a roast in the crockpot, I usually cook potatoes and carrots too. Most of my family doesn't care for how soft the potatoes and carrots turn out. Has anyone experimented with adding the veggies in a little later than the meat?
  3. That looks amazing. Butterscotch is dh's favorite. I will make these soon.
  4. I think I might commit to this idea. Thanks.
  5. That seems great! Do you fasten it down?
  6. I'm wondering too. My local hospital system is saying it's 50% in their hospitals. I saw a local nursing home with even lower percentage. I've been wondering how many people are refusing.
  7. Nothing. I still need a haircut, pretty sure I'll donate to locks of love when I get it cut. No Dr appointments or dentists. I know for a fact our dentist thinks of covid as "just a virus" so NO. We do empty parks. No church, no library time, no homeschool group stuff. We pick up books curbside at the library. We go to the grocery store and that's it. ETA I'm married to someone that says it's "just a virus" so really my precautions are pointless. Luckily, he is a hermit and rarely leaves except to go to work.
  8. I actually hate the table. It's just a cheap thing from Walmart, but I LOVE that idea.
  9. You know, our craigslist list usually stinks. People pretty much want the amount of what they paid for it new. I hear of places where you can get good used deals, but rarely here. I keep looking though.
  10. I haven't looked yet, but the idea of putting laminate on the table is genius. Thanks.
  11. I wish!! We live in 1,070 sq feet. 6 people. 😭
  12. So, the kitchen table at our house, it's the place where EVERYTHING happens. School, art, projects, baking with kids, eating, like it's everything. There's barely a moment when someone isn't sitting there doing something. I currently have a very cheap table and the top is just plain ole trashed. Hideous. I got a tablecloth that I could wipe down and it has gotten just physically worn from all the use in no time. So, if you life revolves around the kitchen table, how on earth do you keep it looking half decent? Any suggestions for a surface other than wood? Something indestructible?
  13. I'm coming up on my 3rd kindergarten child and I think I'm doing FIAR. Memoria Press Enrichment was a close second.
  14. I'll agree with you. I don't even like having neighbors. I couldn't imagine an air bnb.
  15. We had 2 fall birthdays at home. Those kids are really good at knowing exactly what they want. The 2 March birthdays are coming up and my turning 8 son doesn't really know what he wants to do to celebrate, neither does the almost 3 year old naturally. What are you doing to make birthdays special during these times at home?
  16. Haha so funny. I was so uptight about my first kid or 2. I had a dream my mom and sister took my first son and got his ears pierced. I was irl mad at them for a long time.
  17. Great!! My dad got his second one yesterday and my mom gets her second one a week from today. I am thrilled for everyone!!
