  1. In my experience (personally and with others in my family), it is not a sign that you are not to get counseling......there has been for years and clearly still is a shortage of counselors in comparison to the number of people who would like counseling. When I found myself in a situation that on the surface sounds similar to what you described in your post (vague yet they sound similar), I went to my family practice doctor and we spoke. I knew I was depressed and we tried some meds....which have worked. You can pm me or message me on FB.
  2. Too late for the anti-viral -- that's a shame. Phenergan is a good idea - he apparently can use a stronger anti-histamine. Oatmeal baths - my kids loved these and they worked. Domeboro solution -- in the first aid aisle in CVS or wherever -- This stuff is the best!!!!! Make compresses, make a towel compress -- this will dry the spots, and totally relieve the itching. So sorry this has happened.
  3. I love the ideas everyone has posted. Here's mine: I love the wall and base cabinets being different finishes/stains/colors. I love the island being a different finish/stain/color if the base and wall cabinets are the same -- i.e., I had light colored/butterscotch wash walland base cabinets with a dark cherry island. LOVED IT!
  4. You've done nothing that requires an apology. How gracious of you to write this post, and congrats on the corner you have turned.:D
  5. Actually, I was expecting the GI distress from the nasal yuck.....for me,it is typically the last part of a cold. I did have to go back and re-read this, however, in case there was anything credible about flonase and GI distress. I was fairly certain there wouldn't be -- my kids took it all summer and were fine.:)
  6. :seeya: I saw this thread last week when i was using flonase for a cold/allergy attack. Last night I wake with awful GI cramping and all the 'niceties' that go with that. I stopped using the flonase as ther cold/allergy seems to have run its course, but I cannot help but wonder if the flonase was a contributing factor to the current state of distress.;)
  7. I'm so sorry.:grouphug::grouphug: I've been there and finally had a D&C and the chromosomal and immune testing.
  8. Thank you -- this is helpful. We have done Odyssey of the Mind and that has been a good experience. Will look for FLL. thanks again.
  9. Thank you - When I read deconstructing Pengions, I was hooked.:001_smile: I have twins and another student -- so it's okay with me that I have to buy the books as I only have one copy of each -- this time.
  10. Thank you!!!! :) That tells me a lot. So, when you have a moment, can you tell me what a typical science lesson entails in your homeschool? I would be most appreciative. So, now after confusing everyone, I am thinking of taking a serious look at Science Fusion. http://www.hmheducation.com/sciencefusion-homeschool/index.php
  11. I love MCT -- I have already purchased a Literature curric, but I looked at MCT Literature last night and I am thinking of placing an order. The website description reminds me of Deconstructing Penguins and that approach (which we love here). Your experiences? Thanks:001_smile:
  12. Actually, it doesn't make tons of sense to me either.:tongue_smilie: Do I need a 'typical' science curric (apologia for instance) or can I go with a STEM curric (JASON, or something like that)? That's my question - and thanks for being brave enough to help me out.
  13. If you are doing a STEM curric, please provide all the info you can -- who, what, when, how -- For philosophy, I am looking at (and leaning towards) Stottlemier. I am looking for suggestions for Science Curric (includes STEM) - the non-STEM part does not have to be teacher intensive - I would do 'pacs' or anything like that as the STEM will more than make up for the 'teacher time.' And, for very bright 7th graders, I am leaning towards Philosophy as somewhere in my mess of things, there is an excellent Stottlemier curric -- I figure we will do Logic in 8th grade. Share, please -- thanks many thanks!
  14. What do you grow indoors in the winter? Unfortunately, typically a bigger butt.:glare:
  15. Thank you! This is amazing!! It will be well used and well loved!!!:001_smile:
  16. Thank you for the update -- so happy you had good stuff to share. Continuing to pray.:grouphug::grouphug:
  17. A groin pull is pain like no other-----as is a hamstring pull. I totally understand why professional athletes are put on disabled lists because of those two injuries. PAIN!
