  1. Ohhh...you are suppose to have romantic plans on Valentine's Day??? I do make the pancakes with sprinkles in them too for the girls.
  2. In a simple nutshell: Extreme dieting is something someone "goes through" and it stops. People extreme diet to look good at their high school reunion or bikini season or wedding. Anorexia is a "lifestyle". It's the way you live and it's something you just don't "go through" and stop. Your mind needs to be rewired to think "normally" about food, eating and yourself. This is why people who seek help for an eating disorder should see someone who specializes in it. Because anorexia isn't something you wake up one day and say "I want to be anorexia". It's much deeper and darker than waking up and saying "I want to lose 10 pounds before my reunion next month". (extreme dieting)
  3. Yes. If it is a true eating disorder, it simply does not just go away. It's a life long struggle because everything needs to be rewired - your relationship with food, how to eat again, your relationship with your body, etc, etc, etc. If you seek professional help, I can NOT stress this enough: find someone who SPECIALIZES in eating disorders. EDs are a world of their own, full of secrets, quirks and lots of other things that just a "regular" professional has absolutely no idea on how to deal with.
  4. I wear powder cover up if we go somewhere and a touch of blush in the winter and no blush in the summer. If it's a super special occasion, I will put on lip gloss. I don't wear any of this if we stay home all day. I do use chap stick regularly for dry lips. I don't know how to put on eye makeup like eye liner and mascara. Nor do I own any.
  5. Big girl will be a 3rd grader next year: English, Spelling and Heritage Studies - BJU 3 Math - tough one...Singapore 5 maybe (I don't know if I can teach it) or something else that she can do herself for our main program with supplements of LoF, MEP, iPad apps and anything else that floats her boat Science - interest led, probably something Chemistry Other stuff - 4H, art, music, reading, crafts, PE, baking/cooking, etc, etc.
  6. I would prefer an attached garage and would choose an attached over a detached.
  7. http://www.gfa.org/offer/freebook/ Gospel for Asia!
  8. Big girl can give you a detailed, scientific explanation/description of the digestive system and how it works then laughs hysterically when it all ends with "poop"!
  9. Here are some ideas for future books! http://www.gfa.org/offer/freebook/ (currently reading the above and it's great!!) http://www.gfa.org/book/ (this should arrive soon!)
  10. New York has a late cut off so almost 5 year olds are also being shipped off to school. I started school at almost 5 as well and turned out fine. (imo!) As for the "mom going off to work" thing going on in this thread, I was still sent to school even though my parents were (are) self employed and the office was (is) at home. My mom stayed at home since she managed the office. She had no intention to home school so I went to school. So it's not always a "parent wants to go off to work" situation. The bottom line: each family runs the way it sees as best for THEM.
  11. No way, my OCD would never allow it. The thought of years and years of someone else's butts and farts packed into the cushion makes me nauseous. And all of the "smell it" suggestions made me light headed. :svengo:
  12. I lost my plug in the afternoon (actually my mid wife pulled it out by accident after my exam) and began early labor that evening. Very, very slight cramping. I thought it was gas. The next morning, I began to bled and labor became more progressive.
  13. My tongue doesn't assist in pulling the food off the actual fork. I paid close attention today. It cradles the food into my mouth after I pull the food off with my lips and teeth.
  14. You stab that roasted red potato chunk (or whatever you are eating), you put it into your mouth then what??? How do you get that chunk of food off of your fork and into your mouth?? A poll just for kicks!!
  15. A Jewish person who believes that Yeshua Ha-Mashiach - Jesus is Messiah. They don't necessarily have to be a practicing Orthodox Jew prior to believing this. There is a place in Israel that I volunteered at called Yad Hashmona. It's a moshav (like a kibbutz) that is operated by Messianic Jews.
  16. Like someone was crushing my uterus over and over and harder and harder each time. It is the most horrifying pain.
  17. Spaghetti pasta with red sauce and lots of veggies. Steamed brown rice (they have bags in the frozen section) mixed vegetables A big salad topped with sliced "chik'en" patties
  18. Saints and Soldiers - great plot, I don't recall any swearing and there is only one quick scene of violence.
  19. It's a lot easier now because they are old enough to put on all the winter gear themselves. It was much more a pain when I had to do everything for both girls. I just lay out their things in their own pile and they put them on.
  20. Productive. Today will be light since we were suppose to go on a field trip but I canceled since the wind chills are like -40 here. So we are off to a good start for 2014.
  21. Sir Cumference math story books have a knight theme.
  22. http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/01/showbiz/celebrity-news-gossip/james-avery-obit/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 I'm very sad about this one. I really enjoyed that show and his character....
  23. I do a "mandatory sit down" when I'm whipped...both girls need to sit on the couch and watch TV for a few minutes while I regroup. Needless to say, they are on the couch but wrestling, rolling, arms and legs flying around, etc!! But at least on the couch! Contained. lol
  24. My 7 year old learns more wiggling around and doing her things than she does sitting still!! LOL
