  1. I was at my grandparent's house all the time when I was a kid. My girls spend a lot of time at my parents' house because they live about a quarter of a mile up the road. We walk over often especially in the warmer weather. My parents are thrilled by this. My in laws are different. You really can't drop by unannounced and need to make arrangements for day and time. Based on how I grew up and how my parents are, this is very odd.
  2. Craft foam and construction paper.
  3. In no particular order: Band of Brothers Saving Private Ryan The Notebook Who Framed Roger Rabbit Bridesmaids 13 Going on 30 True Lies The Shawshank Redemption The Devil Wears Prada
  4. We dabble in MEP but I cherry pick through the "puzzle" questions in the Practice Book and not use the entire program.
  5. Anything that works. I've tried all three. They work a season then do not work the next season. It's been that way my whole life. My file at my pediatrician was like an inch thick because of so much allergy activity. I think my body adapts to medications and they render useless after a while. So anything that works! I need shots. That is the bottom line. I don't like needles. I rather suffer.
  6. I like running errands. I like getting out of the house. I find reasons to go to Walmart. (The town with all the stores is about 5 minutes away so it's not a big deal)
  7. you know it's coming because you've seen the movie 101 times? Here are three I can think of for me: 1. Band of Brothers, Part 9: Why We Fight - when Easy Company liberates the work camp. 2. Beaches - when "Wing Beneath My Wings" starts at the funeral. 3. Selena - when "Dreaming of You" begins when she is shot. I cry at these scenes pretty much without fail!
  8. Me. I start to shake and sweat and my voice crackles and it sounds like I'm about to cry.
  9. Today is a light school day since I handed in our report to the ps yesterday! And it's a field trip day!! -breakfast, lunch and clean up -read aloud (me) -final kitty prep -pick up PANZER!!!
  10. For me: tshirts, socks and underwear get washed after one wearing. I will wear a sweatshirt for a few days before washing (unless it gets a mark or stain) and same with pants, PJs and bras. DH: Everything but pants gets washed after one wearing. Girls: Everything gets washed after one wearing except PJs, which get washed every 3-ish days.
  11. Make sure it's Blue Wilderness, not Blue Buffalo. Same company but the Wilderness has better ingredients.
  12. I was looking at Bonita Flakes. Blue Wilderness is highly recommended on the Bengal Cat Forum I am part of. I can't wait to try it cause I like the ingredients better than Royal Canin.
  13. BrookValley and Helena - What are you feeding your Bengals? We are starting Panzer on the Royal Canin Kitten since the breeder uses that then transitioning him to Blue Wilderness for dry. For wet, I bought a variety including Blue Wilderness Kitten, Evo and Merrick to see if he likes any in particular and for variety. And of course, meat.
  14. We have two high cabinets for school and there is already a cat bed up there! He also has a cat tree that is taller than dh. You are not a party pooper! It's good to hear things and know more. Do you have your harness trained?
  15. Great advice, BrookValley! Thanks! Give us a couple of weeks after Panzer is here and I'll comment back on how things went with us. One thing I read from several sites is school aged children are a better match with Bengals than toddlers. It looks like your kiddos are younger than mine (big girl will be 8 in May and small girl will be 5.5). I'm very confident in our breeder's reputation and they were very pleased that we stay at home. When we met with them, my small girl actually bonded with Panzer that day! But again, we will have to see how it goes!!
  16. I have read a lot about Bengals! Personalities, feeding, care, etc. We have watched countless youtube videos! I know we are in for a "ride" with Panzer but my girls are also ultra high energy with lots of attention demands so I'm hoping they will all tire each other out! lol I was up at 3am a few nights ago researching cat food again. Took everything back that we bought the previous day and then purchased all new stuff (minus the kitty food the breeder uses). I didn't realize cat food was so complicated!! Two weeks!! His pet carrier and litter box should arrive this week. We have everything else. His cat tree is taller than DH! Thank you for your Bengal stories and comments!!
  17. On April 4th, we are bringing home our newest family member! His name is Panzer and he is a spotted Bengal kitten. I am sooo excited about this little guy and I've NEVER been a cat person!! Anyone else here with a Bengal who wants to chat? Here is some Panzer eye candy:
  18. I bag bananas only because I usually pick from the "singles" and not take an actual bunch. So the bag keeps them together.
  19. I am VERY auditory-sequential and I hear words and see "movies" when I read. This is why I don't like to watch movies of books I read cause my imagination is sooo much better!
  20. How old are your kiddos? And I assume you are in North or South Carolina? I don't formally exercise. I just make extra activity part of my day. Some examples, WALKING as much as possible (parking far away from the store, making extra trips to bring in the groceries, folding and putting clothing away in more trips - especially if you have stairs), while the girls are at the playground playing, I circle the play structures over and over instead of just sitting on the bench, I jog while the girls ride their bikes down the road. I fidget, I clean a lot, I pace around the house while talking on the phone, we dance. I basically don't sit still very much. We also do lots of family hiking and playing frisbee or dh and I will play frisbee while the girls are playing something. There are plenty of opportunities to MOVE even if it's not formal imo. Dump the drive-thru, park far away and walk inside. I used to pull the girls around in a little red wagon all over town when they were younger. Of course this isn't "formal" but every calorie counts if you can't fit in formal exercise. Today, I did two 30 minute snow shoveling sessions. Phew!
  21. We find a series and watch it. And we like to hike together. Go out to eat together. Nothing too exciting.
  22. I can't stand when kids have "drink" mustaches.
