  1. She's taking a Spanish class and the teacher is requiring her to occasionally watch 30 minutes of Spanish TV (or movies). We don't have cable and all I can find online is little snippets of news reports in Spanish. I'd like her to watch something "clean" (no Spanish soap operas). She can watch American-made movies with Spanish dubbing but she's already gone through most of the movies we own. Any ideas?
  2. Thanks! I've got to get to the store and get lots and lots of those little burp bibs. Lots.
  3. He is on medication for reflux and the previous foster mom said it was helping. He definitely spits up a lot, but so far we haven't had any projectile vomiting. (Yeah!) I'm going to talk to the doctor about Nutramagen tomorrow. That sounds like a good route to go. On a brighter note, the previous foster mom said that he's never slept through the night for her. In fact, just the opposite...he seems to be up a lot at night and sleeps during the day. Well, last night was his first night with us and he slept ALL NIGHT LONG! (Thank you, Lord.)
  4. I don't think so, but honestly I don't know much about his history. I'm going to get him checked out by a doctor on Wednesday.
  5. He definitely likes the sling. I'll try him in that position. Thanks!
  6. BTW, he arrived just a few minutes ago. He's an adorable little African-American guy...with dimples! :0)
  7. In just a few minutes we'll be getting a 2-month-old foster baby. I've been told he as a bad case of reflux. Can anyone give me an pointers? Is there a specific formula you've found that's a baby with reflux tolerates better than others? I'm open to any advice!
  8. My two oldest are in ps high school and we don't spend near that much to get them ready for school. In fact, here's what's on our list (and they pay for almost all of it): two pairs of jeans, one pair other pants, 2-3 short-sleeved or cropped sleeve shirts, 4-5 long-sleeved shirts, 2 pairs shoes. (The coat and sweaters and come later.) The school supplies add up, but I really watch the sales and we don't spend all that much. School fees are a bummer. I think I'm paying about $75 per kid this year and they don't do athletics. The girls bring their own lunches to school; not quite as fun but much less expensive.
  9. Our situations sound similar: enter into Quicken, reconcile account, pay bills using online bill pay, etc. The only thing that's different is I only pay bills once a month. Maybe this cuts down on the time a bit?
  10. Okay, I think a couple of those have potential. I like the "notify your face" one. What's the "it" in "it refresheth my soul" though?
  11. I like both of those! But you're right, they're too long. Maybe I should just do "Insert delightful quote here." :)
  12. Hmmm, "constipated people don't give a crap" just doesn't seem to fit the whole Pottery-Barn-thing I'm going for.
