  1. I'm done. Presents wrapped, carrot cake is made as well as the other desserts. Would it be cheating if I made the Lasagna tonight? Hmmm ...
  2. Seems there are a lot f $350-$400 per child and some even more. I dnt feel like I over did it anymore! :D
  3. It's fun to believe in Santa. My children believe in Santa. Or maybe they don't. They have seen the presents in the closet, etc. I believed in Santa as a child. When I found out there wasn't really a Santa at an early age, Christmas night was no longer as exciting as it was before. I'm glad your confident in the decision you made with your own DD though.
  4. I think I would pay off my mortgage first. As long as you plan on staying in the same home for years to come which I'm assuming you are since you are considering paying off the mortgage, a remodel can always happen later. I think I would feel more content and at ease going through with a complete remodel knowing my mortgage has been paid off.
  5. This was my problem this year. Maybe thats why it seems so expensive to me. My oldest has moved out and now I have to buy for her family (her boyfriend and my dgs). I guess I feel the need to spend the same amount on her boyfriend and my dgs as I do on my own children. Why I feel the need to keep everything "even", I have no idea.
  6. We have Citiblocks! We LOVE those here! That is my boys' favorite toy. Mom doesn't like that she is ALWAYS stepping on them! They are out EVERYDAY! Best purchase I have ever made.
  7. Do you have a link to this post? Are you referring to the forums or your blog?
  8. I used to have a limit of $100. That was years ago when my oldest was younger. She is now 18. It seems things for the youngers have gotten so much more expensive. One Lego or Playmobil toy for my sons is in the range of $50 or so unless you find a good deal. I was lucky to find BOGO 50% OFF on Lego at Toys R Us, but still....My kids ask for the most expensive things! Am I the only one? All Playmobil (the big sets), Legos (the big sets), and things like experiment kits and K'nex rollercoasters. I always thought boys were going to be cheaper. NOT! My DD is happy with some new clothes or something crafty. I bought her a My American Girl, but I'm sure she would had been happy if she just got the clothes and crafty stuff. I was just trying to keep her even with the boys so it didn't look like they received more than her. So much for the limit of $100 per child. :ack2:
  9. My almost 5 year old doesn't run away from me, but he gets distracted very easily. I still need to keep him in a stroller because of this when we go to the mall. I can't keep track of him and the other 2. If I have my oldest daughter with me and her son, then that is way too many to keep track of at once. My almost 4 yr old DS actually got lost in the mall last week because I had all 4 of my children with me and my grandson. I had to let my dgs use the stroller because my DD didnt bring his. My 4 yr old got distracted again I'm sure. If it wasn't for his blood-wrenching scream in the middle of the mall, I would had never found him. We have had trouble with him screaming (he does it A LOT). I am always telling him not to scream and to use words instead. I will NEVER tell him that again since that is the only reason I found him. Needless to say, when I found him, the people in the mall on the benches were just sitting there starring at him. Since I have the same problem in a different way, I have no advice for you. I just hope you find a solution.
  10. Simple miscommunication. It happens. I totally know how you feel with the too much Christmas shopping! I was relieved to be finished wrapping about an hour ago! :001_smile:
  11. I'm confused. Maybe I shouldn't had said "girl's toy"? I should had said what society considers a girl's toy?
  12. I completely agree with you on this. I don't think it's an issue parents should push at all, but there is a great difference in a boy tat wants to play with a girls toy every so often because his sisters do and a child that may be transgender.
  13. It struck a nerve with me because I have a 4 year old who has his own American Girl Bitty Twin ( the boy doll) who he sleeps with every night. We took a vacation to Atlanta and everyone addressed him as a "she". Why can't a boy have a doll? How is it different from a stuffed animal or a pillow pet?? A year or so ago he wanted a play vacuum cleaner. He asked me for the pink one at Target. I bought it. I didn't see a problem with it. He was 3 then. I don't think pink is necessarily a girl's color or blue is necessarily a boy's color. Now that he is almost 5, he said the other day, "I can't have that mom because pink is for girls!" I responded, "Boys can have pink things too!". He is still very boyish and plays with boys toys too, but he will play barbies with his sister and even has his own Ken doll which he asked for one day at Target because his sister didn't want to share. Weren't boys and MEN just sporting pink shirt a couple years ago??
  14. I was thinking of purchasing it just to teach my children acceptance. I'm glad to hear that someone has a copy and has enjoyed it.
  15. If you shop at Sephora, they are always extremely generous with samples and they never mind if you ask for one.
  16. Oh my goodness! You don't need to wear concealer all over your face. I used to use Cliniques products for redness. They didn't work. Try Tarte if you want to stay light. If you are wearing concealer all over though, even the Mac would be lighter than that. Seriously, try it. I couldn't imagine concealer all over. Also, the best thing I have found is over the counter after 8 years of searching. It's only around $10.....Proseaca. Most of my redness is gone and the lumps are nonexistent! I didn't mean to hijack this thread. Sorry! Carry on...:leaving:
  17. 3 walls gray and the focal wall behind the bed in the same pink as the comforter. It will look amazing!
  18. I use Tarte Recreate foundation. It's amazing and extremely light! It doesn't feel like your wearing makeup at all! I have very red cheeks (Rosacea) and it covers like nothing else I have tried. I used Mac until I found this. The Mac was very heavy, but I lived with it because it had great coverage. I will never go back to Mac now. Im not sure the Tarte will cover acne, but you could try the Mac full coverage which covers anything! It may not be too heavy for you.
