Thanks for your reply. I'm still a bit confused on the older versions though, especially the "Sonlight" edition having about half the pages of the other versions. I'm going to keep my eye out for the new ones though. They do look much better.

The new color version is much more pleasing to the eye, but at $25 each for the two volumes, that's a lot. I'm still not sure why the Sonlight is half the size of the regular editions, but I found one used, in very good condition, for $4.41 with shipping, so I snatched it up. ;) We really don't have the time for 400 pages anyway, I suppose. I'll do good to get these guys thru 200. Thanks so much!

I think I just figured out the huge discrepancies in the two with blue covers. The one with over 400 pgs is actually the white Vol 1 and the red Vol 2 in a blue case. Kind of makes sense. Why does the Sonlight edition have less than half of the pages of the original? We really don't have the time to read over 400 pages, so if it gets it done in less 200, I'm all for that.

I was trying to find this used and have come up with so many different versions. Can someone help me know which to pick? I also found this: http://www.christianbook.com/great-events-in-american-history/rebecca-janney/9780899570266/pd/570260?event=ESRCG It supposedly looks at historical events thru a Biblical worldview, but doesn't seem very detailed. Maybe combine the two? One leaning left, one leaning right. Differing perspectives, I suppose, might get them to engage and think. This is actually for two high school boys who despise books, reading, school, etc. That's why I posted here instead of the high school board. I was hoping to find an "easy read" that they would perhaps not balk at too much. Thank you for mentioning the Patriots History. Although it looked interesting, the size and scope was daunting.

I'm having a harder time finding the Miller one used, but the Harding is readily available. I'm using it with TruthQuest, so the Harding won't be lined up like Miller, but I wouldn't think it would be too hard to match it up. Thanks, Kim

I remember I borrowed a friend's Classic a few years ago. There were these HUGE binders on my kitchen table for several weeks, but I never could get the "hang" of it. That's why I never bought it. I LOVE the idea, I just don't think I can make it work. I was actually leaning toward Truthquest, I just wish it had more of a schedule. I did download a great one from the yahoo group that some wonderful soul posted that combines TQ, MOH, & SOTW. But looking ahead, I can find no more schedules with TQ for AOR. What is Take a Stand!? I would imagine that book is how they bring that in? I was thinking of picking up an older version of Truthquest and bringing her commentary in to cover a Biblical perspective.
