  1. Thank you all for your help! She has been using the starfall site everyday now and LOVES it. The printouts look really fun too. I am going to try some of the number sites tomorrow. I would still love to hear more suggestions. Thank you again.
  2. How do you go about improving visual perception issues?
  3. We take our SOTW books and have the spine cut off and then hole punched. It is a minor inconvenience but it works out fine. I planned on doing the same with the WWE.
  4. You know...I taught my other two so quickly. It just goes to show you how different each of our children really are! I guess it keeps us from being prideful or thinking we know it all because we homeschool. THIS IS why we homeschool. Nothing is too simple...I am just looking for anything that will make things click. Sometimes it is the simplest things that work...that you never would have thought of on your own.
  5. "Also, if she can control a mouse, set her loose on www.starfall.com." This site looks great. Anybody know of a site like this for numbers?
  6. This is very helpful. Keep the suggestions coming!
  7. I tried Leapfrog but I checked them out from the library. She did respond to them but we only watched a few times. We only had them for a week...maybe we need to add that to our library?. Anybody have a used copy they want to sell? DVD or magnets?
  8. My daughter is 5 and will be 6 in September. We are still working on learning her numbers and ABC's (recognizing symbol, sound, and writing). She is smart...I do not think it is a learning disablitity. She does not have a problem with math concepts (greater, lesser, more than, less than, patterns....) but she cannot seem to learn her numbers. It is the same thing with the alphabet. She loves to color, cut, paste, glitter, and create. I have tried to incorporate this in to learning but she still struggles. I can tell she is a lot like her older brother and has difficulty getting things wrong. She wants so much to be right that she closes down her mind. I am looking for suggestions for games, books, or rhymes that might help. Nothing too involved or expensive, but items that I would have around the house or would find at the library. Thank you, Hillary
