  1. I know this sounds crazy, but have you tried honey? I read an article a while back (2007 I think) in Old Schoolhouse magazine about the NIH doing studies on honey and that in the process they discovered it kills strep. It does work miracles. I had a horrible creeping crud type fungus that the doctors prescribed several medicines for including antibiotics, antifungals, and various other ointments, but nothing worked and in fact it kept spreading. Finally, it went from just one finger to ky whole hand. I decided to put honey on it overnight and after twice a day treatments a couple days later it was gone. I swear honey works miracles and if nothing else it should at least sooth a sore throat. Good luck! Karen
  2.:lol:... I do the same thing with my homeschooling friends.
  3. I've had pink chicken like this before. I don't know exactly why the meat turns color like this. My rule is the chicken is done when the juices run clear and the meat has reached 170 degrees. I usually pull it out at 165 and tent it because it tends to keep cooking for a little bit. Good luck! ;)
  4. I guess there's no accounting for taste. I love some of the snacks you mentioned and routinely have hummus, peanut (and almond) butter with an assortment of fruit, veggie, bread, crackers, etc. We also have an assortment of cheeses including brie, cheddar, gruyere, blue, havarti, gouda, jarlsberg, and more. :001_smile:
  5. :bigear: I didn't know you could use google for this stuff!!! Thanks! K

Have you looked at: RightStart - lots of manipulatives, card games, fun activities Shiller - lots of manipulatives Math on the Level - only 5 problems per day Also, this year I'm thinking of trying: http://www.livingmath.net/ It is a really cool literature based math history program.
