  1. Past hour
  2. I honestly would be afraid in both situations and would feel like my life could be in danger until or unless I could see that the man would not hurt me. I would feel vulnerable and afraid until the man proved to be a safe person. I have a hard time choosing between the bear or the man, though.
  3. I was just thinking that this thread was speaking about being attacked as in being physically assaulted with the end result being death or great bodily damage. By men. I wasn’t thinking that the OP was including emotional abuse or even the type of physical abuse that might occur in a classroom by a female teacher. Yes, females abuse and attack, but I think the OP was talking about the likelihood of suffering physical damage by random man vs a bear if there was no chance of getting caught.
  4. I wonder what those numbers would look like if abandonment was considered neglect? Like, if abandoning your children with their other parent and just getting out of dodge was considered the same as criminal neglect. 🤔🤔. ETA: I’m being genuine, I’m aware that mothers abandon children too, usually with grandparents. It’s just an interesting question to me.
  5. It could be stress too Wouldn’t be unusual given his occupation and now marital issues
  6. We sail May 4. My money is on something like vestibular migraines but I am glad they’re doing imaging quickly to rule out worst case scenarios.
  7. I've often wished I had a recording of myself as a young adult--people often commented on my accent and asked where I was from, and I wonder myself what it was they were hearing. Both my parents have fairly generic Western US accents--my mom grew up in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon, and my dad in California and Utah. At the time I came back to the western US for college I had been out of the country for 9 years, living in 4 different countries with 3 different languages, and most of the English speakers I interacted with were not American (and often not native speakers). I'd clearly picked up *something* but I don't know what. My siblings all had similar experiences of being asked about their accents. It's been years since people have commented on my accent or asked where I am from after hearing me speak, so I assume I have naturalized here.

  12. Insurance immediately approved an MRI and it’s scheduled for tomorrow morning. The provider is taking this very seriously which is what I had hoped for.
  13. Cage and all Cage Parts are cleaned and drying in the sun. Bunny cage area is vacuumed and dusted and washed and etc. The girls are putting the small cabinet together. Both Pups are napping.
  14. Mark Cuban's pharmacy company Cost Plus has saved us a lot of money but I dont think you can get ADHD meds.
  15. Specific examples or ideas would be great, if anyone is up for it. I am really clueless right now (on tons of meds which make my brain fire slowly).
  16. What about a jumpsuit for your daughter? American Eagle has some, Old Navy has some. They are dressy but generally not sexy at all.
  17. @pehp Laundry at every college we looked at is free. No coin-fed machines. No card swipes. Just regular, commercial size machines.
  18. Four here! Ooh, very nice! Regards, Kareni
  19. Today
  20. Boden, Talbots, Ann Taylor would likely have age and wedding-appropriate dresses in petite sizes. You could also do separate top and perhaps palazzo pants if your size makes dresses difficult to fit.
  21. He failed part of the neuro exam particularly cranial nerve 3. Our insurance won’t cover an EEG until after an MRI, but they are ordering a stat MRI. It was a new provider he saw this morning but she was very thorough and I liked her. I was sort of hoping for something like postprandial hypotension but that wouldn’t affect the neuro exam.
  22. Not all crimes are reported, but there are pretty good charts published about crime perpetrators by gender. About 90% of violent attacks by strangers are performed by men with male victims. Worldwide, women are the victims of about 85% of intimate partner violence, with women aged 16-24 the most likely to be attacked.
