  1. I'd go now and I'm an ER nurse. I'm 5 weeks postpartum. During that pregnancy I had to have IV hydration every 2 days for 11 weeks. It was either that or a zofran pump! Being dehydrated isn't good for you or the baby. I'm so sorry, I know how awful hyperemesis is in pregnancy!
  2. I agree with the others. Her best bet would be to work on a Med-Surg floor. I know that my hospital would not hire someone with home health or urgent care experience for a specialized field such as Peds. If possible she should stay where she can get a hospital job then transfer to the Peds dept. there. After a year of specialized experience she can move anywhere.
  3. I work full time (Sun., Mon., Tues.,) nights as a RN in the Emergency Department. I'd love to be able to stay home but it isn't possible right now.
  4. We joined the Y and then signed up for a triathlon class. My three oldest (8,10,12 at the time) really enjoyed the classes. It was a lot of fun to train together. We all loved when we competed in our first 5K, 10K then Tri. Now we do things like the Warrior Dash. We also do a 2 mile free family run every first Saturday. It's fun to look at the website and see our time improve. We live in CO so all 7 of us mountain bike (a lot!) do the incline, ski and hike. In the summer they have swim and dashes- open water swims followed by a 5K.
  5. Manitou Springs fits your description perfectly and is much cheaper than Boulder!
  6. $29.99. 15 years ago. First and only dress I tired on. Bought it on a clearance rack at Marshalls. I think my entire wedding was less than $400.
  7. My 10 year old's best friend has TS. She is absolutely delightful, has tons of friends, excels at school and is on the swim team. She does have heart issues and has a pacemaker. Most TS girls are very sweet as most don't go through puberty and have those teenage rages. Her mother was heavily encouraged to abort and talks about the pressures she felt.
  8. or a referral with a diabetes educator in your community. They are nurses specially trained to answer all of your above mentioned concerns.
  9. The kids and I watched it together and literally laughed out loud. It was a joke! The two boys at the end were absolutely adorable!!!
  10. I would go. In my years as a nurse I've spent many nights with dying patients. The more love and support around them the better. There are drugs she can take other than morphine. Perhaps she would prefer to feel the pain than feel "foggy." Those last few days are often a gift. I promise her parents will appreciate you being there.
  11. Ultram is another name for Tramadol. Tramadol should help her a lot more than the Motrin did but it is not a narcotic. Ultracet is a combination of Ultram and tylenol. Regular Tramadol does not have tylenol in it.
  12. Family Size: paternal-9 maternal-5 (same as me) Size of your home? My home is larger than both Number of moves in your lifetime compared to them? Less than my paternal as my grandfather was a captain in the NAVY. More than my maternal as they moved three times is 50 years. Dh and I have had 4 addresses. Do you have as much of a social support network as they did? I imagine we were equal. Although my paternal grandmother was the epitome of an officer's wife who loved to entertain. :tongue_smilie: How do you think your nutrition compares to theirs? What about your overall health? My nutrition is not nearly as good as my maternal grandparents. My grandfather was a food chemist. He didn't allow any preservatives or chemicals in their food. When we visited my Nana would go to the bakery once a week and buy donuts for us kids. I will always remember his disapproving smile as we gobbled them up. Educational Levels? All of us have at least a bachelor's degree
