  1. My 15yo ds is just beginning Saxon II. He is a 2nd semester sophomore who does okay with math and we are trying to estimate how long this course will take to complete. We have used the Saxon series exclusively for the last 10 years. What kind of pace should I set or should I just let him pace himself as long as he is understanding the concepts? Any insights are appreciated! Formerly Mary in ID...
  2. http://www.recipegoldmine.com/mixes/mixes.html http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/homemadeconveniencefoods.htm Hope these help:)
  3. Oops {blushing}...I went through the pages looking, but I didn't see it. But then again, my husband keeps telling me I need glasses! I'll go post under yours:)
  4. And I picked the little blue icon because he looked cold...just like ME!
  5. Or I should say "are dealing" with this. My oldest son (15) after becoming part of an extracurricular activity at the local ps decided that I had done him a huge disservice by not enrolling him in public school. Afterall, the kids that he was hanging out with said so, so it must be true, right? Fast forward a couple of months...We have compromised with a couple of classes (World History & PE) at the local ps, but the majority of his schoolwork is still "homeschooled." He readily admits that if we were in a larger community where there were more homeschoolers (it's really frowned upon here in this small community) that it wouldn't be an issue. Honestly, I think that bothers me more than anything else...that he wants to do it just to fit in.
  6. Likewise here. I loved the SL forums, esp. the Lifelong Learners one. I miss the discussions on that board, but leaving has just forced me to find new outlets, which is never a bad thing, right?
  7. {Hi Marys echoing in the background:)} I've been on the WTM boards for about the last 6 or 7 years. We've h'schooled all the way thru (my oldest is 15) with the exception of a brief stint in 1st grade for the oldest. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband of 15 years and three awesome boys, ages 15, 12, and 4. I have been Mary in CA, Mary in GA, and Mary in ID. With the changing of the boards I felt it was finally time to get a new name; hence, HappyTree. I love the community that I find at the WTM boards!
  8. "Just Visiting" reminds me of Monopoly, and the last time we played, New Year's Eve, everyone was "just visiting" me!
  9. I think ours is about 17 hours or so...we really enjoy this feature. My youngest likes to watch Pink Panther while I am working:) Mary
  10. Mine works out to be about every three weeks to once a month. - Mary
