  1. My dd fences foil and practices with 2 different clubs. One is a homeschool club that meets twice a week, and is dry fencing only. She likes the social aspect and they do fight in tournaments (which are electrically scored). She and my dh also go once a week to practice with a college team and to get private lessons with the coach. My dh fenced in college so he can coach dd at each tournament. Most of the time, the team captains are the ones who do the coaching because the homeschool coach is directing bouts. Everyone in my family fences now, my ds just started, so I'm going to have to learn the sport.
  2. :grouphug: Praying for you and your brother. I know what you are going through. My brother had his first heart attack at 41, his second at 43, and his third at 45, which resulted in a quadruple bypass. I live 1000 miles away, but was able to make the trip to be with him when he had his 1st and the last one. He finally learned that he must live a healthy lifestyle and keep taking his medications. He's doing great now!
  3. I made the transition from PC to the MacBook Pro last month and I couldn't be happier. I already had an iPhone and iPad, so I thought why not completely go over to the "dark side" My dh works as a software architect and uses only PCs and droids (tablet & phone). He informed me that he would not offer technical support for Apple products. I have always used a mouse with my pc laptops, but have found the trackpad for the MacBook to be easy to learn. I love not having to drag a mouse around with my laptop. I purchased my MacBook at the Apple store and used the educational discount. I got my refurbished iPad through the online store last Christmas and have had no problems with it. Have fun shopping!
  4. Praying for you and your family. I'm sorry for your loss. :grouphug::grouphug:
  5. We sometimes say the Rosary in the car. It takes us about 20 minutes to get anywhere so it's the perfect time.
  6. :iagree: We used benadryl with our shepherd mix and it worked like a charm!
  7. I have that same problem with my wedding ring. The only thing that helped was to take it off when washing dishes and to not wear it at night. I've been doing that for several years and haven't had any problems since.
  8. We felt it here in Greensboro, NC. My ds was freaked out.
  9. My negative just turned 13. A positive came up after I was 10 days late and throwing up. :grouphug:
  10. Huge KC Chiefs fan, but am living in the land of the Carolina Panthers. I don't get to see many Chiefs games so I get my fix with the Panthers. When we first moved to NC in 2000, I was shocked to learn that they didn't televise Chiefs games in this part of the country. If I had known that, I might not have agreed to move. I'm drooling over the Direct TV promo for the free NFL package. I want it, but dh won't switch. He likes football, but would rather watch NASCAR on Sunday afternoons. My kids hate football season because I get the big TV on Sundays and Monday nights. And they don't like it when I "cheer". I have been known to get a little loud.:D Now off to find a Chiefs avatar!
