  1. I'm sorry you lost the funding! What kind of activities did they do at the day camp? Could you plan some days like those yourself? My nephew had seizures and severe developmental delays. When he came to my house in the summer, I planned themed days with his favorite activities and things. We would visit local farms and local nature preserves or state parks. I planned themed days with games, crafts, etc. Could you do themed weeks? What are some of their favorite things to do and eat? If you are near enough to go to West VA and VA, we just visited New River Gorge and Shenandoah and loved hiking in those national parks. I agree with looking for local sports leagues. My nephew had seizures and was limited in what he could do, and he loved the sports groups he was able to participate in. My sister did not like Special Olympics because they had set rules that made it difficult for my nephew to do events.
  2. @ScoutTN, I'm sorry about the accident but especially for all the insurance hoops to jump through. @HomeAgain, I'm glad you made some great memories! I love mine from there for sure! @Condessa, so glad you joined us today! You are busy! The crown went okay. I was very tense and my body was pretty sore all morning and early afternoon. I still feel like I have neck tension. One of the hardest things was holding my mouth closed for the mold. It was claustrophobic feeling. The first time she didn't tell me how long it had to be in, so it was freaking me out a bit. She warned me of the other times, so I got my phone out and played games to distract myself. I go back in about 4 weeks for the permanent one. My gum and lip is a bit irritated in the area of it. I had a lot of individual students today and this afternoon. I am still grading the homework due tonight. One class isn't doing well with a quiz, so I want to redo the lesson for tomorrow and proceed differently. I'm going to be up late.
  3. Good morning! I'm getting ready to go to the dentist for a crown. I have never had one before, and I deal with some anxiety about dental work. I'll check back later.
  4. Dh is off to work with his breakfast and lunch. 5 Zoom sessions 1 in-person student coffee Bible study food for me dinner tidy house exercise class pay bills/update big budget book prep for tomorrow watch something and relax
  5. @ScoutTN, I'm sorry ds is sick, too, and at such a bad time! I pray you feel better and your neck improves! Sounds like good news on the campout. @mommyoffive, I'm sorry your house is being hit with sickness, too! Praying for a quick recovery. The trip to Costco was good. There was a lot of great art in the art show! I've been working on school work off and on. Dh and I are caught up on Amazing Race and Ghosts. We are behind one episode of We Were the Lucky Ones. I meant to call my dad tonight and forgot, so I'll call him tomorrow.
  6. We are getting ready to head to Costco, and we host the local student art show this afternoon. I need to do a lot of grading and school prep today, too. Hope everyone has a great day!

  9. @TheReader, and @ScoutTN, I'm sorry you both had rough nights, although very different reasons. Praying for a better day, healed sinuses, and resolved conflicts!
  10. Good morning! I slept in today, but my sleep was not good. I kept waking up all night. It's like my body knew I could extra sleep and said nope! We have a young couple over for dinner and board games tonight. She is in my Bible study at church, and we've connected well. We're old enough to be their parents, but their family lives about 3 hours away, so I figure everyone needs some local "parents" to hang out with. LOL! done with my shower but I need to dry my hair and get ready new homeschool student in person this morning; He is coming to the new co-op next year, and his dad wants me to help make sure he is ready for my class. 11. I am so very sorry you all are facing this!! Praying for him and all of you!!!
  12. Would you all please pray for a friend of mine, Missi? She has a syndrome called Adult Cyclical Vomiting, and every 2-3 weeks she has a few days of nausea and vomiting. It hit this week while her husband has been traveling. He called me this morning to see if I could sit with her, but I have students all day. He did have someone else to call and is on his way home from Florida. Thank you!! I have met with 2 students this morning, and I have 3 more to go. The pest service guy is coming this afternoon, so I want to tidy up a few areas. Dh works at the charter school tonight, so I'm on my own for the evening.
  13. @ScoutTN, I'm sorry you are sick! I didn't see your thread and started one. 🤦‍♀️
