  1. Rosie, may you find some peace and comfort in this time. You are cared for as is your family. Many hugs and much love.
  2. A retired teacher told me she washed her hair with dog flea shampoo once a week. She swore that was why she never got lice even when everyone else did.
  3. I don't know of anything to say other than thanks and just keep going. Now if someone wants to go on and on, I'd just remark that we all have our own perspectives.
  4. I really hate that about Rudolph too. I won't watch Charlie Brown either. I'm told I'm reading too much into it and that the kids won't notice it. But I do and there are too many other shows to watch that don't do this, so... And I try to be careful with the Jim Carey movies... some of them have jokes that I really don't want the kids repeating or having to explain to them. They're almost adult movies with kid overtones.
  5. We had pizzas. On other mornings we'll have eggs or oatmeal (depending on the kid). Usually though, we have leftovers or lunch style things... We don't eat "normal" breakfast things
  6. So sorry to hear this! I hope he gets to feeling better soon, and can get well enough to go home.
  7. From my understanding they are supposed to be designed to break, allowing the straps to take the force of the child. (Which is another reason to have them on the chest and not the belly).

G takes both a Tap/Tumbling class (15min each) and a Ballet class (30 min). He's the only boy. We don't get any discounts other than her normal family discounts (which are awesome just by themselves). He does have to have ballet and tap shoes but his uniform is a t-shirt and shorts. She mentioned that in the future he might need black pants for performances.
  9. But it is reasonable to use a fleece coat and a blanket or more. Those snuggly things? Those are pretty awesome too. And keep kids warm and won't compress in an accident.
  10. Wait! How can you do this to us? Make us wait to find out if it's a boy or girl? Fine, by that way. :001_tt2: Congrats again though!! I love ultrasounds!
  11. Oh, yes please!! My kids all fall in this range. Many times it seems like most of the recommendations I find are for 2nd grade and up. The pre-K/K (maybe even 1st) group have such different needs than the 2-6 grade levels, and even more so for the middle school group.
  12. We're starting a new tradition this year. We're going to have a Storyteller's Eve. The menu calls for soup, rolls/biscuits, a few other sides. After dinner my dh will read a Christmas story before the kids open their pjs (traditional gift every Christmas Eve). We'll have a popcorn party in our jammies while watching a Christmas movie, then it should be time for bed.
  13. Well, if you think about it, we research for the stages we're in or will be in, so we stay up on the changes going on there. But we really have no reason to research what's changed where we've already been. ETA: Besides, people have experience beyond their children.
