  1. my daughter want to take a Humanities course for fall and spring Humanities (Ancient-Baroque) Humanities (Enlightenment-Present) students are exposed to an integrated study of classical art and music, and the role of fine arts in the development of society throughout different cultures and periods of history. Can this be counted as music, or visual art?

  4. We used Abeka and quit mid 4th grade. Jumped around with Bob Jones and Easy Grammar. Read Rod and Staff worked for some people so we decided to go for it. At that time my dd was in 5th grade and started her with grade 4. It has been life changing gor us. There is writing every 4th lesson or so. Not alot of writing so she narrated the Story of the World everyday. Three years later today she is doing grade 8. We do what we can orally (since there is much repetition from previous years) and the diagraming goes on notebook. For more writing she is doing the Writing with Skill level 1 by Wise. Both are her favorite subjects.
  5. She wanted to share her writing and asks for your input in her writing. My brother Timothy, chubby and curly-haired, is the most courageous of babies. He races too much. He cries too much. He experiments too much. He’s everything a baby should and should not be, but no doubt he would be the most admired around others of his kind. There’s never a moment when he’s idle. One minute he’ll be sitting down nicely eating his apple, but the next he’ll be scribbling on the white wall with an eye-catching royal blue marker or crayon…or taking off his diaper…or spilling carrot juice onto the bed in an attempt to be cute. He knows the art of fight. In a match of throwing, he’ll pick up blocks and have them streak across the room. He joins in wrestling. He’ll wave a broom at his brothers, yelling in a high voice the war-cry in the tongue of babies. It’s quite possible he’s a genius, because any new electronics soon become subject to having their buttons toyed with. Among all electronic devices, the first one he ever mastered was the mobile phone. He would take it somewhere to a room where no one could watch him, and then he’d begin deleting Mom or Dad’s information only to replace it by downloading something else – once, a video game. Now, it’s the computer, and he loves to watch his brothers make it to the next level of the games (not to mention he’s into watching movies and messing with DVD players and their discs). He’s fast at everything. He had barely turned one year and a month old when he accomplished the feat of walking, showing his brilliancy. He’s the adult kind of baby, as he’s hesitant to taste a suspicious-looking new sweet treat, but will eat a piece of raw or fried onions. A fearless little man, he’ll take on the sweat-breaking journey up to my top bunk bed, and stand on the edge, looking down a five-foot drop in the face. My brother’s quite a baby.
  6. We are reading this for the Veritas Press History Omnibus I and my daughter just finds it boring. Should we skip it? or find an alternative.
  7. Just like Pelosi said once " You have to pass it (buy it first) in order to know what is in it" So if we pay $25 now we do not have to pay $250 in Sept?

  12. I am having the jitters planning for 9th grade this fall. I need help with World History. We are currently doing Omnimus I and my dd is having a difficult time getting excited to read and is moving slower than molasses. So not sure if we should continue with Omni II. What other programs are there that will not brake the bank?
  13. My daughter is not being challenged with her Rod and Staff English 8 anymore. This year she is in 8th grade and we are just flying through this book. I was thinking before this to continue with English 9 and 10 coming next year for her 9th grade. I am wondering if she will get new concepts in grammar or should i look for something else. thanks!
  14. I am looking into this for my children too. Wondering if you got more feedback or notification.
