  1. Just saw an ad for GSN - online classes K-12 that can be started throughout the year. Anyone use them? Pros? Cons? I have students in 6th 7th and 12th. All fairly "normal" learning levels. Thanks!
  2. I have to keep two steps ahead of her all the time. It's EXHAUSTING. My husband says it's like constantly trying to "build a better mouse trap". We do keep our son supervised 24/7. He even sleeps in our room to limit his destruction as much as possible. This leaves him waiting for us to do normal daily chores so he has plenty of time to scheme...It is exhausting!
  3. Just wanted you to know I am with you - we have an 8 yo RAD son. No one else understands...even our local mental health professionals have only a limited understanding. You are not alone...It is very real. The manipulation. The public facade...And it takes a toll on the entire family...
  4. I guess I want grades to give me a marker on how much they are retaining. We read each lesson and then either orally discuss it, or they write something about it. I worry that an hour later they aren't really retaining anything. I think that if coloring, cutting, pasting are included in the AG they wouldn't mind not doing the pockets anymore!
  5. We are using History Odyssey Level 1 this year for first grade. I'm trying to decide what to use for next year. My kids love HO and my only complaint is that I don't know how to come up with grades... I'm starting to make curriculum decisions for next year and wondering if it would be easier to use SOTW AG and tests for 2nd grade so that I have a similar program and tests available. My kids love the history pockets and the Usborne Encyclopedia of World History that we use with the HO program. Are there similar supplements used with the SOTW AG? We do NOT do most of the crafts recommended by HO. I've never seen the SOTW AG or tests...any comments on if it would be a good switch for us? Thank you. Amy K
