imeverywoman
children before we begin a new cycle. Tell me, does this sound nuts? Have you done anything similar, just to refresh the ideas before revisiting them at a more in-depth level?
jelbe5
at least with the first book. We have never done a four year history cycle. History has been catch as catch can. I am thinking of having my rising 9th grader read the first volume this summer before we begin a more in depth study of the ancients. The SOTW books are concise and fun to read but hit the important names, places and facts in a way that help you remember.
Kareni
Two other possibilities might be A Little History of the World by E. H. Gombrich or the Cartoon History of the Universe/Modern World by Gonick. (See most of them here. Be aware that the Gonick books contain more adult subject matter, but they're a fun review for teens.) Regards, Kareni
