Janice in NJ
This site offers instructional videos and a syllabus all linked to suggested texts. I would start here: http://www.hippocampus.org/Physics/ Peace, Janice Enjoy your little people Enjoy your journey
Kathy in Richmond
For Physics B (algebra- based), I like Giancoli physics, and for Physics C (calculus-based), both volumes 1 and 2 of Resnick, Halliday, and Krane.
Gwen in VA
I second the recommendation for the Giancoli for non-calculus-based physics.
Brenda in MA
I third the recommendation of Giancoli for the Physics B exam. It's a terrific text! Brenda
NYChristine
Thanks for all the reply's. Which edition of the Giancoli text did you use? Did you also purchase the student study guide and solution manual? TIA.
Kathy in Richmond
I used an older (3rd) edition of Giancoli, which I bought used (cheap!) several years ago. No, we didn't use the either the student study guide or the solution manual. They look like good supplements, though. I'm nerdy enough to love doing physics problems with the kids, and we were satisfied with checking our work against the answers in the back of the book. LoriM
Thanks for all the reply's. Which edition of the Giancoli text did you use? Did you also purchase the student study guide and solution manual?TIA. We found the student guide and solution manual to be invaluable, and my daughter took the Giancoli text at the CC. Just as the "tutor" we needed the extra helps. :)
