Jane in NC
I see that Needleroozer mentioned Coghill in a post on another thread. Any comments on this one or others? Thanks in advance. Jane
Needleroozer
I see that Needleroozer mentioned Coghill in a post on another thread. Any comments on this one or others? Thanks in advance. Jane Hey Jane, My ds tends to like what I consider to be "tough" translations- as close as he can get to the original, the better. So he picked the Coghill trans. for this one. Now, my dd, otoh, is reading the Geraldine McCreahan (not sure if I spelled that correctly) translation. I think this one is a bit easier. I have to admit, anymore, I make my ds read TWEM, and compare translations, and I buy as many translations as I can of each suggested title in TWEM, so that he can pick the hard ones, and dd can have the easier ones (she is in 7th and not so fond of the harder versions, but when she is, we will have them!). Hope that helps!
Tonia
The Coghill translation is the one mentioned in TWEM (translated into modern English). Or if you want to read in middle English, the Norton edition (edited by Kolve) is suggested.
