back to CLEP BIO questions again

Recommended Posts

I wonder if anyone has used Thinkwell for this? I'm basically trying to come up with the least painful way for ds to prep for the BIO CLEP test. He has done Apologia bio, chem and adv. chem. So, I know we need to bone up on the anatomy side and evolutionary and biological/ecological stuff. I am guessing that I'll need a college level text and maybe use hippo campus or something like that....I really don't know. I do know that we don't really have time to run a full two semester college bio course....so what would you do?

Am I being an idiot thinking that he could do this? I have no idea how difficult the test is or anything...

I await the great hive mind....:D

Have you had him take any practice test yet? There are the REA test preparation books for clep. Then once you find where he needs to study you can add what he needs.

You might also find the following resource helpful.

There is lesson plans laid out to help the students study for the clep exam.

If he's already done Apologia Biology, maybe all you need is the CLEP prep....something like instantcert . com They have hundreds of fill-in the blank flash cards as well as a Users Forum with exam specific feedback. They have a 30 day money back guarantee - it might be worth checking out.

I facilitated a Sociology CLEP prep group and some of the students found the flashcard format to be helpful.

I've gone over and looked at your recommendations and am feeling a lot better about this. I was afraid we'd need to almost "DO" a full college level course to prep, but it sounds like the prep books and maybe a borrowed text from the library to review some rough spots would be enough. I'm sure ds will be relieved!
