Taking SAT IIs but not the SAT test?

Recommended Posts

that's exactly what my current senior did, and it hasn't impacted any of his college choices. No one questioned it during the application process. He took the ACT last April and did very well, so we didn't think the extra prep time that would have been necessary for him to take the SAT was worth it.

It also didn't break my heart to save the $$$ I would have sent to the College Board.

Wasting time on practicing, studying for both ACT and SAT is my concern too. I am going to just stick with the ACT and a few SAT II. Thanks again ladies.

I think it would be fine. (Do you intend to have your son take the PSAT? If he does very well and has a chance of being a National Merit Finalist, he would need to submit regular SAT test scores to move on to the finalist stage.)

I am having my 10th grader take a few of the SAT II test, but I really wasn't planning on haviing him take the SAT, only the ACT( not sure yet). Will this look funny to the colleges he applies to?

This is my plan also...I think my kids will fare better on the ACT...especially my girl children.

He did do the PSAT last year and I will have him do it again this fall because he will be in 11th, but he didn't do as well on the psat as he did on the ACT.
