I would like to be able to edit video clips and I need a good software to do this (that doesn't cost a ton of money-free if possible!) I have windows movie maker on my computer, but I can NOT get it to work. It keeps crashing, etc. It is a huge source of frustration to me, so I need something different.

sorry....hope you find what you need. For a recent project, I used the WMM successfully. So that was my only suggestion. It was my first try at such a thing and was thankfully easy. Could it be that your computer is acting up for another reason so that is why that is crashing?

I don't know. Even our tec guy couldn't figure out why it was doing it. I tried uninstalling it and I couldn't even do that. It is weird, but VERY frustrating!!

Roxio Easy Media Creator is the only "cheap" option I can recommend for someone who needs to do video editing on a non-professional, occasional basis. I'm assuming that's your need, but if not then Adobe Premiere Elements is my suggestion. My dh uses Adobe Premiere Pro and I assume the Elements version is a casual user version just like the Photoshop Elements if for their photo-editing software. :)
