MommyInTraining
I am wondering what this is like? Is anyone familiar with it? Thanks for ANY input you can offer. :001_smile:
Pamela H in Texas
A friend of mine used it with her kids and it was great in enabling her to teach the subjects over a large age/grade span (she had 10 kids). I don't really remember much about it (it's been a good 10 years) and it could have changed? Of course, you have the consideration of all the OTHER stuff that comes with it. I don't know what your beliefs are so I can't say that that would be problematic for you. I will say there is no way it work for us. I consider it extra-biblical and legalistic and just wrong. But if you believe similarly to them, then it may still work for you.
Kelli in TN
I used to attend a church that had quite a few followers of that organization. It was not for us but the folks who used it absolutely loved it. We stepped away quickly when we found out that my husband would have to shave off his beard. That was enough for us and we never explored it any further. I don't know if the no-beard rule is still there, this was in the early 90's. Ellie
The instructional materials are good, but having to do all the Gothard stuff just isn't us. From an outsider's POV, ATI families *generally* tend to withdraw from the homeschooling community in general, even those who have been very active in leadership. That kind of bugs me.
