Home Chem Lab/MicroChem

Recommended Posts

I've finally decided to use PH Chemistry for next year (after ordering, viewing, and returning texts from several different publishers.

I would like to use the Home Chem Lab, but it is a bit costly. Is the Micro Chem kit sufficient for ds who plans a major in the sciences?

I'm using the microchem 5000 set with my 7th grader. It is OK for him, ok IMHO as a middle school lab and it was wonderful for my older son when he was in 7th grade but I wish I had known about the Real Chemistry book back then. Janice in NJ told us about it in this thread:

I purchased it but haven't decided how I'm going to use it.

Yea, that is the book I'm referring to. The home page is Home Chem Lab-

The lab supplies are so costly, but I guess that is what it will take if I choose to do Chemistry at home!
