ga girl
I have changed my mind multiple times about what to use for my dd next year. I just need someone else to tell me that this looks good or I need to change something. My dd will be technically 8th grade, but is advanced in most areas. So, here goes... Apologia Biology Notgrass Exploring America LL Early - Mid and Mid -Late American Literature Henle Latin Spanish 3 LOF Advanced Algebra piano drama club I am thinking of the Hewitt online for the LL and for the Spanish 3, the Potter's School (or maybe just BJU dvd's- we've had a tutor up to this point). I am going to begin a transcript for her this next year and will count this as 9th grade instead of 8th - I think. Input? Thoughts?
hihoboneo
You know your child better than anyone. I always pray and ask God to give me direction on each child's curriculum He is SO very faithful to guide me. Blessings, Bonnie
Moni
Let's see Math Science History English Latin It's probably enough, although someone else may think it's not enough, and another think it's too much. Have you pre-determined your own goals for the coursework and method? If so, you'll have a good idea whether it's enough and/or appropriate :) :seeya:
Kareni
It looks good to me. I'd have her try The Official SAT Question of the Dayâ„¢ every day. Have her keep a reading list of items read for work and pleasure. If her taste runs to fiction, put out an arrangement of intriguing non-fiction and ask her to read one every month or so to broaden her knowledge and add some variety to her reading list. Regards, Kareni
ChildofGrace
I agree with the other respondents~~ you know your child best. Having said that, I personally think your plan looks like a great 9th grade year.:) My only concern would be dd's emotional maturity level (as opposed to academic ability level)~is she ready for the issues presented in some of the LL materials? I would also encourage you to map out your basic plan for high school before making any firm decisions. For example, how many years of history, math, and science will dd need in her career path? What other subjects necessary for college admittance will she need? Will she attend cc for certain subjects? Obviously one must be flexible, but I have found that having answered those questions has really helped me to sort through the many options available. Ed. She HATES to move her body. Does forcing her to walk on the treadmill 3 times a week count? :>) I am not familiar with a good logic/rhetoric program. Can you recommend one? It would definitely need to be one that she could do independently.
