Hannah
I am probably putting the wrong search term into Google, but can't find the scope and sequence for the national curriculum mathematics for Year 3 (Key stage 2). If our plans work out, we may be moving to the UK this year and 8yo and 4yo (when we get there) dds may have to go to school for a while. I want to make sure 8yo is ready for year 3. Thank you! Laura Corin
I think 'scope and sequence' isn't a common phrase in the UK. You can see the objectives for year 2 on this page - click on the different areas in the left side bar, or switch to year 3: http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/primaryframework/mathematics/learningobjectives/Years/Year2/ Laura

Guest Lorna
Hannah, Try the 'Maths Made Easy' series by Dorling Kindersley. They are great workbooks aimed at supplementing what a child does in school. They cover all the National Curriculum targets for both Scotland and England and it would be much easier than trying to unpick what the teacher-speak guidelines are. You will only need the general 'Maths Made Easy' which covers everything. We found that when the children were in school they matched their syllabus almost week to week! Because they are aimed at children in school supplementing at home they are very gentle and enjoyable. You could skipped things you have already covered. They are available on Amazon. Friederike in Persia
We're putting our children into UK schools every 2 years, when we're back for a while. So far we've found that the schools/teachers have been stunning at helping them to fit in and catch up. I'm not saying you shouldn't prepare them as best as you can (which you seem to be doing), I'm just adding that the system seems strongly geared towards helping everybody to fit in. KS_
I'm not sure if this will be helpful or not, but here's a link to MEP (Mathematics Enhancement Programme), created in the UK, and available online. I don't know if it's being used by many schools there or not. http://www.cimt.plymouth.ac.uk/projects/mep/default.htm
Chloe
Math-It Guide Book, it might help. It has a scope and sequence for all ages/grade levels. Rainbow Resource sells it for $10. HTH!
