Christy B
I keep seeing this on listings on the B&N website: Paperback -- ABR I found a listing on the help page that described paperback, hardcover, mass market, etc -- but it did not define ABR. So, I called the 800 customer service number. I was put on hold, and the rep came back and said "as far as she could tell" the designation ABR meant that "it was a re-released edition". Well, first of all "as far as I can tell" doesn't inspire confidence. And how do you get the acronym ABR from anything involving editions? Thought I would check and see if anyone has run into this. My concern is that the ABR stands for "abridged" -- although, in other places, abridged is spelled out completely (the rep said that she was "pretty sure" if the edition was abridged that it would be spelled out; again, "pretty sure" doesn't inspire me to click through to checkout) Oh, and the reason this matters (there are other editions to choose from) is that my dd has started a "collection" of Puffin Classics -- so we are trying to find more titles in that specific series (otherwise, I'd just choose a title without that confounded ABR and be done with it). MotherMayI
Can you check that edition somewhere else to compare, and see if it is listed as abridged? (maybe the library or amazon?)
