Anna
I'm searching for a 1-vol anthology that covers in chronological order excerpts of Russian literature from its beginning to the present. I'd also like it to contain brief bio info on the authors, brief background on Russian history during time when each lit work was written, and any other bits of info that analyzes the work. Is there such a creature all in 1 volume? Thanks... Edited December 4, 2008 by Anna
Lori D.
Check this one out: "An Anthology Of Russian Literature From Earliest Writings To Modern Fiction: Introduction To A Culture" (Nicholas Rzhevsky) http://www.amazon.com/Anthology-Russian-Literature-Earliest-Writings/dp/0765612461/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228366042&sr=8-
Michelle in MO
I found a recent post by Eliana about Russian lit. Even though you are looking for one volume, you might get some good information from her posts about literature in general, and this one specifically about Russian lit. Eliana's very well-versed in literature! Here's the link.
Anna
Thanks guys. Reason I wanted an anthology was not for homeschooling but more for a lit overview for myself. Then I could draw ideas from it to read whole books. And I really wanted to see the works mentioned in chronological order to make it easier for me to follow the Russian history as I read. Anna
Thanks, Eliana. This is great! I'll safe your information for when I'm ready to make purchases. And it was my own fault that you misunderstood. I wasn't explaining well, what I was wanting. Edited January 12, 2009 by Anna
