Is anyone else saving information from the board

Not I.

I’ve reached a point in my thinking where I’ve stopped (ok, I have significantly reduced) hyper-vigilance to the “what if...â€s in life. I think it’s great if you already know you need the physics resources for a planned upcoming class, and you know of some of them on the board to go and get. Perfect - I hope you have a great upcoming class! My comment isn’t a rebuke of your backing up things. I think it’s more about how I used to think “but I *might* need this†or “but this *might* happen†or “this is too valuable not to hang on to†and spend a great deal of time in resource procurement or conteigency research for things. It began when I was in teacher Education post-bac, saving old textbooks, activity handouts from other teachers, posters, CDs of clip art, film canisters, etc. And as a homeschool mom saving outlines of classes I *might* teach or handouts to go with a program I *might* use. I later saw that those things that *might* have been usually did not happen, or that my preparation was excessive and actually unneeded because solutions and resources were easily come by when needed. AND, the resources I had were often dated. I am still a proponent of reasoned preparation. But I have moved out of a state of preparation because of fear of not having access to something in the future.

The hive is an amazing resource, a repository of the wisdom of experience and the cleverness of intelligent Homeschoolers. But it’s ultimate value, to me at least (anymore), is in the continual contribution of members to the topic at hand. I’m looking forward to all the new!

Targhee, I definitely get your point!

The physics information is what I was concerned about, so it's the only topic I've been doing a "search and rescue" on. I remembered some great posts while doing research in the last few months and remembered thinking how helpful they would be.

I'm going through the free curriculum thread and adding links to my bookmarks. But only the ones I know I'm really interested in using this coming school year. I probably would have done that anyway, I'm just doing it early just in case that thread is hard to find or the links are glitchy with the move. :)
