BrandonMommy
I'm looking into options for what to do after WWE3 for my dd's 5th grade school year. Please share what you did or used! Thanks!
desertflower
We started WWS and continued CAP's W&R. I know others do either Treasured Conversations or CAP's Writing and Rhetoric. Going fine so far. WWS does take a lot of time.
blondeviolin
We wrote across the curriculum: summaries, outlines, etc in literature, history, and science.
redsquirrel
Well, back in the day, I did WWE4 with my older boy and I have zero regrets. With my younger boy, we did WWE 3 in fourth grade, so I just put him in Expository 1 at WTMA and it's been wonderful. He's in Expository 3 now and paying for those classes has been one of my better homeschooling ideas, lol.
hollyhock
We wrote across the curriculum: summaries, outlines, etc in literature, history, and science. That's what we do, too, with three kids so far. Will be doing it again with my 4th next year.
wendyroo
We abandoned WWE3 half way through 3rd grade because DS wasn't getting much out of it anymore. We have spent the last two months cruising through Winning with Writing 3 which focuses on outlining and writing paragraphs. I also give DS a question every week (ie. What is polio? or How do sedimentary rocks form?) and I walk him through the process of researching, outlining and writing a one paragraph answer. Once he is comfortable writing a short, organized, on-topic paragraph, then I am planning to have him go through Put That in Writing Level 1. Next I hope to start moving slowly through WWS 1. SoCal_Bear
redsquirrel, I saw comments on the board this year here and there (can't remember whose comments) about the Expository classes at WTMA changing. Can you shed any light on what is going on over there? Do you think it is a teaching style difference between various instructors or an actual change in the direction of how the classes are running?
