Chris in VA
Briefly I am really sick so ds has taken dd to her audition at UNCG. I booked a hotel and had to pay for it last night instead of going myself--so, ok, they get there and dd messages me. It has OUTSIDE corridors instead of hallways, and the place is musty. It appears "sorta" clean. And ds did not give her lunch. She needs to eat. I told him to take her to an early dinner. I'm really pissed. There's nothing on the hotel.com site to indicate that this is a motel. The pictures are deceptive, imo. It was not cheap, either. And I'm mad he didn't take her to eat on the way--it's a frickin 5 hours on the road (they just got there, so they were on the road over lunch). She says Quit freaking out and I'm like, I'm not, I'm just mad that I worked hard at looking for a good hotel and this one is crappy. He better take her to dinner at 0-Senior Citizen Hour. They are only staying one night, it's close to campus, and it will be fine. BUT STILL.

Rachel
Oh that’s frustrating, brothers can be clueless. We stayed at a Hampton Inn one time that had outside corridors. Between my husband and me we have probably stayed at 100 different Hampton Inns and never had one before with outdoor corridors, we were both pretty surprised. It all worked out but I definitely was expecting something different.
Mary in VA
On a different note - what is your dd auditioning for?
Chris in VA
She's looking to be in the music education program in viola. Ds just posted a funny vine-like video of dd eating jello--well, she's holding jello on a spoon at a restaurant and shaking back and forth and then cracking up. I think they are doing fine.
stephanier.1765
My dh wouldn't stop for lunch either. Road trips are tummy growling affairs. I hope your ds isn't on his way to becoming that kind of husband. Give him a good earful now before his wife does.
Kim in Appalachia
Such a lovely campus. There are some nice pubs in the area (for you guys, when you go visit her if she goes there. :D ) We only went once. My dd didn't end up there, but they have a terrific strings program. Hope it all goes / went well!
plansrme
I totally get it. I do not even really trust my husband to be my kids’ pit crew when it is an important meet, test, tournament, etc. I have spent years figuring out how to get them fed, rested, pumped up, calmed down, whatever, and no one else does it right! Good for your son for stepping up, but it is hard not being there!
