lynn
Seems like every month another friends parent has passed. Parents of friends I grew up with hit me harder in that I knew them well. This morning I got another IM from an old neighborhood friend whose mom passed. Breaks my heart. UmMusa
Yes, getting older brings sad things. Sorry you're sad.
SparklyUnicorn
Well, it's not the getting older part for me since my mother died when she was 49. It's the death part I find sucky. Sorry you are sad.
J-rap
That's happening with my parents' friends too. It must feel really sad and strange for my parents. My dad still goes to his high school reunion every year, and the group is getting smaller and smaller.
ThisIsTheDay
I've had the husbands of two friends pass in the last year, along with a cousin, aunt, and two close friends' fathers whom I've known since childhood. While I was starting to feel overwhelmed by it all, my bff pointed out that this is only the beginning. Unfortunately, she is right. The alternative of course is to not get older, and then everyone would be mourning you . . .
Chris in VA
Yes, like ThisIsTheDay said, getting older is a privilege that comes with perks and hardships. I'm sorry you are hurting. It's hard to let go of the past for me, so I understand.
