Good morning!  I overslept.  My parents are coming by for a visit today and to go to DS16's baseball game this evening. I was hoping to get an earlier start with DS13 so we could be done by the time my parents got here so mom and I could go shopping.

-coffee

-DS16 off to school

-school with DS13, including writing a paper for WTMA

-laundry DONE:  1

-straighten up for cleaning people tomorrow

-go to mall with mom if she wants (she will)

-dinner at some early hour (pork loin roast with sweet potatoes and apples)

-DS16 baseball game at 6 pm (I have to run the scoreboard, DH has to do the announcing)

I am sick. With what exactly, I'm not sure.
Headache, sore throat, backed up ears. Last night I had a fever, but not now.

Dd will be able to do most of her schoolwork without much help.

Ds will get a day of mostly reading and playing.  Eta: He is on the sofa, but his mind is in Middle Earth, reading The Hobbit for the first time. We've listened to the audiobook, but there is something special about reading it yourself. He doesn't feel good either, so a day of reading is good.

I have to take clean clothes to my mom at the rehab hospital later today.

And figure out dinner.
And get Dd to AHG.

Good morning!

I slept late.

Today:

Get dd 16 yo up and doing school work.

She needs to bake some gluten free dairy free brownies to take with her on her trip to NYC - weekend field trip the county public school theater department is doing.  She's going with one of her public school friends she made through the community theatre she's been involved with for years.

Prep for Latin study session.

Go to Latin study session and study with kids for certamen competition this Saturday

Home again

Don't know what else.

Dinner at Cava Grille - get dd to her friend's house. She's sleeping there over night since they have to leave at 4 a.m. and friend's parents are chaperones for trip.

I'd really like to deep clean my house at some point.  LOL Don't have the energy but it is getting to me (even me, the one who doesn't see clutter and dirt until it gets extreme!).

Paperwork. I need to clear out a lot of old things, so that I can find what I need more easily.

Read very helpful book on picture framing at Logangraphics site. I skimmed it yesterday.

Dinner is roast beef, because Ds likes red meat. Thinking of roasted cauliflower with Indian spices and roasted sweet potato slices to go with. May splurge on canneles for dessert, although we shouldn't. TJ has frozen ones that are almost as good as fresh, and our freezer is stocked. Fresh fresh canneles are so good that we eat them in the car outside the bakery, lol. Btw, canneles are a French pastry -- impossible to do homemade, imo, as they involve yeast, plus special molds lined with beeswax.

Good morning! I have that general worry about all my kids today. Each in their own way, it's like they are conspiring to ruin my sleep and my ability to de-stress. Dh just left and asked, if I was going to be here when he got back tonight. Joke, but not joke. I am making lasagna for dinner (no one likes it but me)-so I am staying for today. One day at a time, people.

To do:

edit papers with ds2-done

school with ds3-ongoing

take ds2 to cc-done

chores/more school with ds3

email to dd2's counselor (problems with some teachers and timed assignments)

call ds1 if he doesn't start answering my texts

call to ask questions about a program ds2 was placed in

make dinner

ds3 to tennis/pick up dd2

club practice

ds2 to judo

Have a great day!

It's been a tough morning.  I'm sleep deprived which makes me want to eat things that will give me boosts of sugar but I'm diabetic so I'm being really "good" and am forcing myself to have self control.  Plus, I've lost 7 pounds now and am poised to lose an 8th pound and I'll be darned if I'm going to ruin that.  In addition, I'm not patient by nature and the puppy is being particularly "puppy" this morning.  But I'm also forcing myself to be patient.

It helps (maybe?) that I'm a firm believer in adults adulting even when it isn't pleasant or convenient.  But I will try to get a nap later.

Sorry, Jean! I hope Juliet takes a nice, long nap this afternoon so you can get a break.

I have the beginnings of what I can tell is going to be a thumper of a migraine, and there's another ice storm headed our way.  :glare: The kids and I are going to make a run into town in a bit to stock up on food for the weekend.

Jean, I hope you get time for a good nap!

I have spent a good part of day at computer. I set up an email just for critical items like credit cards, insurance, medical, etc. Important things were getting swamped by less important. It took longer than I had expected to change the email notifications on all the sites. Then I started moving regular old emails into sub-mailboxes by category. Deleted the obvious, but still should go through the rest sometime. Considering that I do try to keep up to date with emails, it took a long time. But it feels good.

I still have to tackle overall paper filing. And download online bills and year end statements, so that I can discard as much paper as possible.
