Excelsior! Academy
We've used Apologia almost exclusively for science. I'd really like to find a different Chemistry curriculum that uses cooking as its base and is at least as thorough as Apologia. Any recommendations? Excelsior! Academy
Yes - Guest Hollow does exactly that. I love the look of their curriculum!! It reminds me of our Noeo Chemistry year! Thanks for sharing!!
klmama
Has anyone combined something like the Guest Hollow plan with a traditional chemistry course, including the math? Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk I haven't done it yet. My daughter won't do chemistry for another year. But I'm considering adding just the text from Spectrum Chemistry. It has more math and I got it at a used book store for $2.50 LOL.
AK_Mom4
We did this one year when we ran out of material in our normal coursework before the end of the year. It was lots of fun! https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/experimental-study-group/es-287-kitchen-chemistry-spring-2009/

CinV
Mr. Q Chemistry uses kitchen based labs.
slackermom
This isn't a curriculum, but your post reminded me of a great book written by a friend of a friend. I will definitely be revisiting it when my kid starts chemistry. https://www.cookingforgeeks.com
JanetC
Friendly Chemistry also does kitchen-based labs. I wouldn't call it math-heavy, but it does do both concepts and math.
