desertflower
Hello, Anyone skip books in W&R? I was thinking of skipping from fables to Narrative II, then skipping Proverbs and do Refute. He is currently doing WWS with no problems and finished fables. He seems to get it. I guess I'm asking because the program says to use the books sequentially. That it builds upon itself. Thanks for any info.
luuknam
There are some threads and some info on the W&R website as well about skipping the first books if you have an older kid or w/e (including some info on what book to skip to depending on what skills the kid has already mastered). Other than that, I don't know.
desertflower
Thanks luuknam. I looked on the site and it didn't look like it was advisable to skip books. I'll try to find past threads though. It's good to know that one can if one has already mastered the skills through other programs. :)
luuknam
Right, they don't recommend skipping books other than when starting with older kids. The placement info is in the FAQ: https://classicalacademicpress.com/faqs/ Edited February 21, 2018 by luuknam
MamaSprout
Late to the party. How much W&R has dc done? We skipped some of Narrative, but I had a group of older or stronger writers. My group this year has some students who have already had some W&R, so I've used parts of this ooc book to avoid repetition: https://books.google.com/books?id=cZUAAAAAYAAJ&source=gbs_slider_cls_metadata_7_mylibrary It's two years worth of materials. It is much easier as a supplement than W&R, but would work best for a student who has had Fable and some Narrative and can write a basic essay. I'm just using the writing sections.
