what to use after Christian light math 700 level

I was wondering if anyone  has had experience with christian light education math 800 level? I have read that the level 8 is more consumer math with pre-algebra concepts  and could potentially  be skipped and the child would still be ready for algebra 1 after finishing  the 700 level.   We have done all levels from first grade to finishing up 7 this year.  Would we be missing anything if we went straight to algebra? We are  not in any particular rush to accelerate through to algebra, but I would love  to hear others people's experiences with this curriculum and learn from what they have done. We switched to prealgebra (with a different provider) after the 600s, so I can't offer btdt advice. But in your shoes, I would take CLE's placement test for algebra. That should let you know whether your child can skip the 800s.

We want from CLE 700 right into Algebra. We went with Math without Borders and Foeresters Algebra and it worked great. He was well prepared and had no problems. I didn't like CLE algebra at all.

We went from the 600s to Derek Owens prealgebra and it's gone very smoothly.

DD16 did level 800 after 700. She was never grasped math easily and always had to work at it, so we didn't want to rush her into algebra. 800 worked well for her, and when she entered brick and mortar school in 9th grade, she was able to earn A's and B's in her algebra class. I'm not sure she would have managed that without the extra year.

 

So it depends upon your student. In her case, it would have been a mistake to move into algebra after level 600 or even 700, but I know that path does work for others.
